On This 4th of July, May Freedom Ring

A somber reminder on this holy day:

* Liberty has never come from the government.  Liberty has always come from the subjects of it.  The history of liberty is a history of resistance.  Woodrow Wilson

*  The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors: they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men.  Samuel Adams

* The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.  Thomas Jefferson

* Lead, follow, or get out of the way.  Thomas Paine

I'll let Lincoln have the final say:

* America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.  Abraham Lincoln

May we remember those who went before us in their mighty battles so that we may draw courage for ours.

Happy 4th of July and God Bless America!

I hope you had a Happy Fourth Patti!

I did. I took time off from everything. It was very much needed and much appreciated. :)
