As the years have ticked by, I have come to notice that most people who get themselves into trouble often don't realize how many opportunities they had to avoid it until it's too late to recover. This process of unnoticed but incremental transition, the law of unintended consequences, and the failure of so many people to look beyond the borders their own little patch of life in the here-and-now are all contributors to the age-old question, "how in the world did it come to this?"
At some point, "I told ya so" just isn't even worth saying.
Jacob: So many times, I have been shaking my old man fist and thinking that I am where my parents were as they viewed youth. I ask myself: Is it merely a cycle? Do we become more intolerant as we age? I don't think so.All we have to do is look at the government rolls, and listen to the "i deserve it" mentality of so many.
I think that things are going to shit faster these days, and it scares me. And as youth's invincibility urges, and because our youth haven't been tested (on a whole), they continue to do what youth does: march forth like nothing will catch-up to them, like no bullet will pierce them.
So, I will yap on, even if I am one voice in the howling wind of not-for-the-better change.
