The Right's New Name: The Other Side

Joe's use of the term "the other side" in this ad continues Pelosi's usage when she called for more skin in yesterday's post.

The other side...

I LIKES IT!

P.S. Carpet bombs?!  Sounds more like a Democrat ploy according to Urban Dictionary's definition (NSFW...DO NOT GOOGLE...YOU CAN'T UNREAD WHAT YOU HAVE READ...I warned ya)

Calling Republicans "the Other Side" seems rather hypocritical, since tolerant lefties tend to accuse conservatives of making out various identity groups as "others." Clear back when I was in high school, usage by politicians of the word "other" was supposed to be indicative of some deep-seeded prejudicial mindset. It seemed the word "other" was all but stricken from the political lexicon. Abstract ideas couldn't even be described as "other" as it might suggest that one rejects an idea due to its source rather than its content. "Other" almost carried the same strength to offend as "you people." Of course, eliminating the ability to describe something as "other" is indicative of the left's desire for total homogeneity.

But, as we have been noting lately, liberals have become comfortable in their prejudices and are willing to express them openly. It's almost laughable considering only a brief decade ago, the left lambasted Bush for use of the phrase, "you're either with us or against us."

Of course, being a marketing person, I can't help but wonder if they focus-grouped the expression "the other side" verses "Republicans" and "conservatives" and found that people are actually more sympathetic to the latter two terms.

tryanmax: do you think they also focus-grouped (verb'd!) barry's new campaign slogan: Forward!

I had a good laugh over that this morning.
