Rubio Gets It Right

Wanna start your day by being pissed off?  Nah, me neither, but it's the state of affairs these days.

Take a look at this article at Politifact.com: 51% of Americans paid NO income tax in 2009

Holy Sh*t.

So that's why tax-paying Americans feel burdened.  We're carrying quite a load ( ~ bad jokes here ~).

Consumption tax is looking better, eh?   Not that I support one, just saying that those who consume, IE EVERYONE, has to pay.

Senator Rubio made headlines last week when he had a novel idea: "We don't need new taxes, we need new taxpayers (3:37 tic mark).

Simple, smart, yet surely to be rejected by those not paying.

Yeah, pisses me off too.

Patti: I had been using the figure of 49% until very recently. Now I am convinced that 51% is the correct percentage. It's a distinction without a difference, since most political economists who are not Keynesians believe that the tipping point for the welfare state and socialism is somewhere around 35%-40%. But after all, the rich aren't paying their fair share, right?

Rubio nailed it.

Flat tax, baby! Even a relatively high % would probably cut my family's tax burden nearly in half, not to mention actually be fair. What a concept.

law: rubio is being vilified for the TRUTH. speaks volumes about the left, and the lengths they'll go to silence the TRUTH, eh?

tam: the flat tax is worrisome to me because while it can srart low, you know the libs would want it increased every stinkin' year. consumption tax on the other hand seem to be a much fairer way to go. even the crabby illegals would have to cough up their dime. but i really don't know if my fantasy ideal about a consumption tax is the reality of one.

I agree, there are problems (libs are the definition of "problems")with the flat tax. My fantasy tax structure would never work because of liberals. Forget about fantasy...ANY REASONABLE tax structure would never work because of liberals.

tam: unless they're taxing YOU to pay for THEM. that works great for libs.

Patti, Rubio is a guy to watch. He's very bright, very knowledgeable about the right things, and experienced. Let's hope he keeps pushing his way up into leadership!
