Douchebag of the Day: Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL)
Let me break it down for you, hombre: We don't care what label you tack on to these folks, an illegal is here illegally, breaking the law, sucking tax money out of our pockets.
Telling us that they're smart or energetic or worse, that they're impatient and not gonna take our bullshit, does nothing to help your case, or more importantly, these kiddos. It merely serves to strengthen the resolve of all legal citizens to get illegals off the teat of this country. Period.
Telling illegals to ignore the process of the very country they swear to love, encouraging them to give the finger to the law of the land, not to mention the immigrants that worked WITHIN THE LAW, because they want to take something that is isn't theirs, is not a good way to start their journey to citizenship.
So talk your smack, douchebag. And we'll do the hard-lifting that elected officials are supposed to do, that elected officials are paid to do.
Get in line for citizenship like everyone else, or get the hell out.

Well said Patti! I couldn't agree more. It's amazing that not only are these people encouraging illegals, but now they're telling us to sit down and shut up and fork over cash to them? Forget that and forget Gutierrez.
One of the foundational beliefs of the American Repubic is that we are a nation of laws, not of men. The border-jumpers' first act in entering the United States is to break the law, then demand that the law be ignored. Why would we want to make citizens of people who don't believe the law applies to them, regardless of their potential talents or sad stories? American citizenship is as much a state of mind as it is a document, and they start out with exactly the wrong mindset. We are not free under the law when others are free from the law.
andrew: as with most line-jumpers: we don't tolerate! not to mention that i'm not thrilled with letting someone in the club that has such disdain for the rest of us.
law: libbies will bite at any sad tale and then condemn those of us who approach the problem with values and logic.
you said it perfectly: We are not free under the law when others are free from the law.
it's infuriating.
