The Storm Builds
There's a whole lot of BLECH out there, my babies. Along with strapping on your helmets, I suggest a rain slicker as well. Getting caught in a shit-storm makes for tough-to-get-out stains, no matter how much pretreating you do.
* You know by now that Federal Judge Susan Bolton stepped in to slap a temporary injunction on the Arizona Immigration Law. What you may not know is that Judge Bolon is a Clinton appointee. Yeah, like we couldn't have figured out how this was gonna play out.
Here's part of what she had to say: "Requiring Arizona law enforcement officials and agencies to determine the immigration status of every person who is arrested burdens lawfully present aliens because their liberty will be restricted while their status is checked,"
Ok, then. The Federal Government has no intention of tackling the illegal problem for fear of stepping on the liberties of lawful ALIENS, who aren't so much citizens. Gotcha.

Headline Headache
Late yesterday, I read this story: Mass. Legislature approves plans to bypass Electoral College
Gave me a shiver. But because my brain isn't a legal one, I won't bother you with my nonlegal, foot-stomping, pissy opinion, yet will throw you over to the capable hands of Andrew over at Commentarama. He covers the topic HERE. Here's his tasty opening line:
If there is one thing Democrats love doing, it’s trying to rig the electoral system.
The man speaks the truth.
In other news, Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) are calling for Barry and Crew to allow "a smooth exit for illegal immigrants who are trying to leave the U.S. due to the weak economy and Arizona's strict new immigration law."
The part that made me LOL! was the idea that the immigrants are leaving due to a weak economy. As if. Seriously, if you are going to call yourself a journalist, REPORT THE NEWS. Those pesky illegals are leaving because they don't want to be BUSTED. Period. The End.
Although I do agree with the ALIPAC's efforts to allow "safe passage" out of the country for the illegals. They want you and me to call Washington and discuss the idea of setting up border checkpoints so the lawbreakers can hightail it home without prosecution or being detained.
You know, so they don't have to backtrack through the blazing hot desert or risk all types of coyotes, as the door hits them in the behind.

And finally, how about this BREAKING NEWS headline: FCC Says New FinReg Law Exempts it From Public Disclosure
Huh.
When pushing this bill, does anyone else recall Barry saying something like this (um, EXACTLY LIKE THIS):
That this bill would “increase transparency in financial dealings."
A politician saying one thing, yet doing another? What does this mean?!
This new law, signed by your transparent friend Barry, basically says in the plainest of English: Take your Freedom of Information Act and shove it. Go on. DO IT.

Team Christie!
Excuse me for a moment while I give a shout out to New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie.
Ahem....
Chris, I could just kiss you, Christie has VETOED a bill that would have handed over 7.5 MILLION buckaroos to "family planning" clinics, mostly run by Planned Parenthood. Governor Christie, you da bomb! Plus you're packing, excuse the crassness, really big balls, and I love that in ANYONE.
You have stated that you are committed to restoring government to "fiscal sanity" and with this VETO you stand by that pledge. Let it be known: every program that comes through the pike should NOT be funded by the taxpayer. There has to be a line in the sand.

Rationing 'R Us!
This weekend, the UK Telegraph ran this headline: NHS bosses have drawn up secret plans for sweeping cuts to services, with restrictions on the most basic treatments for the sick and injured.
Here's what I read: Secret plans! Sweeping Cuts! Restrictions on basic services! Sick and injured! UK SUCKAS!
What kind of basic treatments? How about common hip and knee replacements and even more common cataract surgeries? Basic enough for you? NO MORE WALKIN' OR SEEIN' FOR YOU!
The words "rationed" and "attempts to save billions and billions of pounds" were strung together. Eh, not so surprising, knowing what we know about socialized anything, right?
The kick in the pants: this news, deemed "astonishingly brutal" by patient's groups, comes DESPITE the assurances, DESPITE the trusted word, DESPITE the PROMISES of the government that these services would be protected.
Really? Folks believed the gov'ment lies?!

Perhaps, protected like little lambs to slaughter, cause my sweet fluffy sheepies, gov'ment cheese has to come from somewhere...
The article even reported that terminally ill patients would have to fend for themselves, "manage their own symptoms" is how they put it, in the evenings and on weekends. Bravo UK! After all, they are terminal. I think we can all agree that they are dieing anyway, no matter what is being done for them. No sense in spending money that can be saved on a lost cause, eh?

Wait a gosh darn minute. If that's true (and it is) do you think our gov'ment could be as blatantly corrupt as the UK's?! Telling us one thing, then doing another? Saying NO PUBLIC OPTION, yet planning for it anyway? Why, why, that would mean that they would say and do just about anything to get elected and then, once in office, ignore the pleas of the people they were sent to represent.
If we aren't careful and smart and AWAKE, that UK Telegraph headline will appear in the U.S. of A. in a year or so. We'll have to change the ending, of course:

Jackson wants the "administration" to apologize, but here's where you have to ask yourself, "Apologize for what?!"
For firing an inept employee?
Noooooo.
For making her pull to the side of the road, forcing her to resign?

Barry, er, the "administration," needs to apologize to a racist black woman (outed by a conservative Internets site) whom they promptly fired in a most undignified way (and possibly may rehire) OR, it needs to stand by firing a racist black woman spilling party politics.
In either scenario Shirley is a racist and that's problematic.
Jesse's entire premise of his insisted upon apology is built on the foundation that Shirley is black. She's not a racist; she's a black woman unfairly treated not only by the administration, but by America. He's trying to turn this around, making this about us being racists (or more to the point...the "administration" ~i might faint with joy~), and ignoring the YOU RACIST! jackass in the room.
By golly, she was helping crackers (Oh. Stop. It.) find help with "their own kind" and that should count for something, right?! Hell, it should count for everything and the rest of you can just SHUT-IT!

NAACP ♥ Race-baiting
The NAACP is a perfect example of repeatedly spouting vile, racist, untruths in the hopes that if they repeat a lie enough times it will become truth. Kinda like Clinton's lie that he so desperately wanted you to believe (Lord knows he told us of his innocence enough).
Oh my. How embarrassing.
The NAACP has approved a resolution condemning what it calls "racist elements" within the Tea Party. The vote has sparked a war of words between the two groups, and NAACP leaders hope the move will help fire up its membership with midterm elections approaching.
Sometimes you have to look to find the truth, and there it is.
Instead of firing up their membership through truth (blasphemy!) and hard work, the NAACP is yelling WOLF! When all else fails, it's time to pull out the YOU RACIST! card and hope it works.
Mark Williams, a national spokesman for the Tea Party Express fired back:
"You're dealing with people who are professional race-baiters, who make a very good living off this kind of thing. They make more money off of race than any slave trader ever. It's time groups like the NAACP went to the trash heap of history where they belong with all the other vile racist groups that emerged in our history," Williams said.
POW! BLAM! WACK!
A direct punch to the nuts with the Truth Stick has got to hurt.
What caused the NAACP to spew their garbage? Remember this?
Charges of racism against the Tea Party flared after African-American congressmen said they were heckled, spat at and were assailed with racial slurs by Tea Party supporters during a demonstration at the U.S. Capitol.
Problem is there were no other witnesses to corroborate the story. No other witnesses in such a large crowd? All those folks with video cameras and not one person (especially the opposition that was present that day) caught the alleged despicable act to finally prove the Tea Party's racist bent? No You Tube smack down? What?! Could the congressmen be lying for their own gain? Nah....

In the past 24 hours, more than a few pundits and writers have noted that the NAACP resolution accusing Tea Partiers of racism is hard to swallow when the NAACP seems unconcerned with the New Black Panther voting intimidation case.
The article concludes: Anyway, if, as has been believably alleged, the NAACP attorney was lobbying or actively hinting to the new Obama appointees or their "friendlies" in the "career" ranks of DoJ that DoJ should drop the Black Panther case, it makes the NAACP's charges of racism against Tea Partiers even more tendentious. These New Black Panthers, after all, are some of the most virulently racist people around.

While the NAACP has denounced this "new" Black Panther group, you don't see them expending energy to defeat this documented racist group. Kinda goes against their vision statement:

Here's my simple analysis of the NAACP's racist claim against the Tea Party: You are deluding yourself to think for one minute anyone other than extremists on your side of the aisle are buying this spoiled milk. The rest of us are on to you.
The Tea Party movement include all races and you can call them anything you like, but it won't change the fundamental truth of your outburst: you are scared.
The Tea Party movement is about smaller, better run government, for all races. The Tea Party movement is about accountability, for all races. The Tea Party movement is essentially about empowering the people, all the people.
And you can't let that stand, now can you?

Real or Fake?
I was sent a disturbing image that I have NOT been able to prove or disprove if it is Photoshopped. Last week, Snopes was still in the "undetermined" camp and there is much discussion about fakery where the photo does appear, yet no one has ultimately proven authenticity.

Here's what I do know about it:
1) While the viral emails circulating point to an Arizona rally on May 1, 2010, the actual buildings in the shot point to L.A.
2) There was a rally in L.A. on that date.
3) Many claim it is/isn't Photoshopped but no one has come forward with proof.
I pray to God it's a fake, but that I can't find proof is disturbing. Anyone know anything more than that?

Gay Soldier Survey
Headline: Pentagon: Gay Soldier Survey Won't Lead To Segregation
Questions about the Defense Department's intentions stem from a controversy that started last week regarding a survey the DOD sent to 400,000 servicemembers. The survey is part of a Defense Department analysis of the impact of repealing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT) law, which prohibits openly gay men or women from serving in the military.
After questions from the survey were leaked, some gay veterans organizations criticized the Defense Department, saying the questions -- which related to issues like how servicemebers would handle sharing housing or bathing facilities with gay colleagues -- were biased against a repeal of DADT.
Last week I read a blog by an active military officer concerning the DOD's survey sent to 400,000 service members concerning the impact of repealing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law. He was chosen to participate and shared his thoughts with his readers. After reading his response to the survey, which he printed in part, I asked for permission to reprint it here. He has graciously agreed.
I have known this officer for some time now and he routinely offers a well thought out, thought-provoking, common-sense approach to many of the issues we are facing today as a country. Knowing such concerned and engaged Americans are serving their, our, country, makes me even more proud of our amazing military.

I found it rather ironic that after reading about the survey to be distributed by the DoD concerning the repeal of the law prohibiting homosexuals from serving in the military over breakfast this morning, I found a notice in my email inbox at work telling me that I was one of the lucky 400,000 who would get to offer their opinion to the survey agency. Just to be slick, I took screen shots of every page of the electronic survey, so I could relate some of the questions to you, dear readers. Most of the questions were to establish information about me as an individual; i.e. my rank, my age, my gender, my race, why I joined the military, how I viewed my command climate, etc. The rest pertained to homosexuals in the military. Here’s a sample:
“Do you currently serve with a male or female service member that you believe to be a homosexual?”
“In your career, have you ever worked in a unit with a leader/coworker/subordinate you believed to be a homosexual?”
“If Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is repealed, how easy or difficult to you think it will be for leadership as they start implementing the policy to hold service members to the high standards of military personal conduct regardless of their sexual orientation, treat service members in the same manner regardless of their sexual orientation, provide the same opportunities to all service members regardless of their sexual orientation, make sure all service members are treated with respect by their coworkers, and enforce good order and discipline?” (Each topic had an answer range associated)
“If Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is repealed and you are working with a service member in your immediate unit who has said he or she is gay or lesbian, how, if at all, would it affect your personal readiness, your immediate unit’s readiness, your motivation, your immediate unit’s motivation, your ability to train well, your immediate unit’s ability to train well together?” (again, each topic had an answer range)
“If Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is repealed and you are assigned to share a room, berth, or field tent with someone you believe to be a gay or lesbian service member, which are you most likely to do?” (Possible answers: Take no action. Discuss how we expect each other to behave and conduct ourselves while sharing a room, berth, or field tent. Talk to a chaplain, mentor, or leader about how to handle the situation. Talk to a leader to see if I have other options. Something else. I don’t know.)
“If Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is repealed and you are assigned to bathroom facilities with an open bay shower that someone you believe to be a gay or lesbian service member also used, which are you most likely to do?” (Possible answers: Take no action. Use the shower at a different time than the service member I thought to be gay or lesbian. Discuss how we expect each other to behave and conduct ourselves. Talk to a chaplain, mentor, or leader about how to handle the situation. Talk to a leader to see if I have other options. Something else. I don’t know.)
“If Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is repealed and a gay or lesbian service member attended a military social function with a same-sex partner, which are you most likely to do?” (Possible answers: Continue to attend military social functions. Stop bringing my spouse, significant other, or other family members with me to military social functions. Stop attending military social functions. Something else. I don’t know.)
And then, the grand finale: “If you would like to share other thoughts and opinions about the impacts on you, your family, your immediate unit, or your service if Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is repealed, please use the space below.” Oh boy, you done asked for it now… My response follows (comments added):
“As a career military professional and an officer, I am bound by oath to obey the lawful orders of the President and the officers appointed over me, and will do so regardless of my personal feelings. While I do not approve of nor fully understand the homosexual lifestyle, and while I feel it violates the laws of God and nature, an individual’s sexual orientation is far less relevant to me than his ability to meet the established standards of proficiency and conduct. It is even less relevant in a combat zone, when survival and mission accomplishment are of singular importance. (So here’s a question: if I’m required to obey the orders of the president, what do I do if his orders aren’t lawful? Despite the fact that there was a Federal law, passed in congress and signed by an earlier President, which stated unequivocally that homosexuality was incompatible with military service, President Clinton issued an executive order that established the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, effectively circumventing the law. I seem to remember learning something in middle school about Congress creating the laws, the President enforcing them, and the Supreme Court interpreting them. Apparently that was just a load of BS.)
The purpose of the military services is to prepare for and to fight battles in defense of our nation and our way of life. For the military to be used as some sort of social test bed because politicians (the vast majority of whom have never worn the uniform) made promises to get votes is both wrong and detrimental to the purpose we serve. However, what truly erodes morale is not the imposition of a controversial policy, but the failure of our elected leaders and their appointed officials to convince the members of the armed services that the focus of their policies are in the best interests of the military and the nation, and not their own political gain.
My primary concern is that of fairness. Race and gender continue to be issues primarily because they can be used as a vehicle for minorities to overcome personal shortcomings in ability. EO complaints are often the result of an individual pulling the “race/gender card” because someone senior ordered them to do something they didn’t want to do or punished them for substandard performance or conduct. I see homosexuality simply becoming one more platform that can be used by individuals of lesser caliber to level the playing field in their favor. Race, gender, and sexual orientation should have no place in determining an individual’s suitability for service – performance, conduct, and professionalism are the only measures by which service members should be judged.
My secondary concern is one of logistics. How does the DoD plan to address the issue of military chaplains whose backing organization refuses to conduct same-sex marriages? How will the DoD reconcile that Article 125 of the UCMJ makes sodomy a punishable offense? The Marine Corps feels that individual barracks rooms are uneconomical and contrary to our ethos; how will they solve the problem of billeting? Will homosexuals be allowed to room together? Why then will males and females not be allowed to room together? Will heterosexuals be forced to live with homosexuals? How will the DoD deal with the fact that many of the states in which they have bases do not recognize homosexual marriages, and that such unions have no legal status off-base? Among other things, these are a few of the areas in which I foresee serious complications in the repeal of the law which prohibits the service of homosexuals in our nation’s military.”
I guess in the long run, I don’t particularly care whether homosexuals are allowed to serve openly, as long as they can shoot straight and don’t let their sexual orientation get in the way of mission accomplishment. What I do care about is that a well-meaning American public, via its elected representatives, is killing the military by foisting its ever-shifting mores upon it. The American people have every right to do so – but they have to be prepared to accept the consequences. If America wants a kinder, gentler military, America must be prepared for defeat at the hands of an enemy that is neither.

Jackson tried reshaping Lebron's business decision into a bigoted, racially-charged, slaves against owners issue (really?!) by commenting (and embarrassing himself as he pooped out this steamin' stankin' pile) on Dan Gilbert's scorned response to Lebron leaving Cleveland (which personally, all i heard while reading it was waa-waa-waa. it's sports. it happens.)

While I agree that our society/productivity has changed since the advent of refrigerated air, I think it has made us better. Just as our society/productivity has changed since the advent of the car (and electricity. and penicillin. and the printing press. ~add yours here~). Your article makes me wonder: where would your delusions end? We no longer have covered wagons as transportation. Will you suggest a return to that particular horse power as well? Hey Cox (hehe), look! I spiked my car's A/C to HIGH and I didn't even flinch.
You wouldn't either if you lived where it gets hot and stays hot for most of the year. My bet is you would fold within the early morning hours. We get humidity in the high 80's coupled with climbing temps that don't top out until early evening. Some nights the temps hover in the high 80's to low 90's after bedtime.
These conditions have been known to drive some insane.
But not me. I've got a house full of 'fridgerated air where the livin' is easy and sometimes downright chilly!
That's got to piss you off.

The Louisiana Senate passed its opt out bill 28-3 after the House approved it by a wide margin.

Thirty-eight percent of independents approve of the job Barack Obama is doing as president, the first time independent approval of Obama has dropped below 40% in a Gallup Daily tracking weekly aggregate.
Even a doof like Carter had higher independent polling numbers at this point in office. That's gotta be a hard punch to the nuts for Michelle ( let's face it, she's prolly the brains behind this operation).
As everyone knows, or maybe not, independents hold the keys to the castle. And right now I think they must be considering changing the locks and eating the key.

Though international diplomacy would seem well outside NASA's orbit, Bolden said in an interview with Al Jazeera that strengthening those ties was among the top tasks President Obama assigned him. He said better interaction with the Muslim world would ultimately advance space travel.
"When I became the NASA administrator -- or before I became the NASA administrator -- he charged me with three things. One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science ... and math and engineering," Bolden said in the interview.

Say it with me: ILLEGALS
Helmets on, mah babies. Can't be having our soft spots exposed when we go blindly running into walls. Our anger, it grows.
#1) The cost of harboring illegal immigrants in the United States is a staggering $113 billion a year -- an average of $1,117 for every “native-headed” household in America -- according to a study conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
It goes on to say: FAIR's report argues that there are two choices in the immigration debate: “One choice is pursuing a strategy that discourages future illegal migration and increasingly diminishes the current illegal alien population through denial of job opportunities and deportations. The other choice,” it says, “would repeat the unfortunate decision made in 1986 to adopt an amnesty that invited continued illegal migration.”
So, to Cliff Note this argument, illegal immigrants are costing you and me monies that we could actually spend on our families, monies that you earned through hard work, through possible late nights missing the family, and through law-abiding means, AND Barry wants to comp these illegals with citizenship even though they ARE BREAKING LAWS ALREADY ON THE BOOKS. Cause that's what we do in this country; we reward law-breakers. Right?
#2) The U.S. Justice Department has filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Arizona's tough new law targeting illegal immigrants.

The government filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Phoenix on Tuesday.
The lawsuit argues that Arizona's new measure requiring state and local police to question and possibly arrest illegal immigrants during the enforcement of other laws usurps federal authority.
Tuesday's action has been expected for weeks. President Barack Obama has called the state law misguided. Supporters say it is a reasonable reaction to federal inaction on immigration.
Can't be possibly arresting illegals, can we? You know, those folks here ILLEGALLY, who have broken our laws to sneak into our country, to steal our hard-earned monies, to live in the shadows as they thumb their noses at our outrage.
Nah, that would mean someone in the administration grew a pair. Not likely.
#3) McCain, McCain, McCain....
McCain emphasized that even the guest worker program he continues to favor would be strictly temporary, with violations of that law enforced to the letter of the law.

Show of hands, who misses Reagan? Damn, that's a lot of folks.
Over at Big Government, Mike Flynn is talking about a launch of a new site called Big Peace and he featured this ad that I think is worth everyone seeing (not to imply that EVERYONE reads here. As if. ~snort~ ).

Happy 4th of July!
