Go to the comments. There was hard-hitting debate over my sanity: Seriously? Patti, nobody credible on the left gives a rat's ass about the fairness doctrine.
I actually felt sorry for those who were so blinded by Barry and Crew that they couldn't see what was happening, what was going to happen. Dismiss me and my warnings all you like, but the day may be as close as next month.
Yesterday, Big Government's Seton Motley, has this bit of news (emphasis mine):
November 30th, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) could potentially engage in one of the largest federal power grabs we have ever seen....After two years of this Presidential Administration and this Congress, that is saying an awful lot about an awful lot.
And what’s worse, the FCC would be doing it without Congress weighing in. At the FCC’s November meeting – note the coincidental date of choice, AFTER the impending election – three unelected bureaucrats (of five) could simply vote themselves rulers of 1/6th of our entire economy – the information and technology sector.
Meaning the Internet that you currently enjoy – that has been a marvel of economic and information innovation and success – will be subject to vast new governmental regulations. You didn’t elect these people – but they are on the verge of electing themselves Internet overlords.
That's such a small bite of that article, I encourage you to go and process the entire meal. Fair warning: be prepared for some acid reflux. It will not go down well. But like all things good for you, do it anyway.
It's sickening to think that this government grab might happen. Can you imagine what would happen to our trusted news sources? To our voices of opposition? To wasting time on facebook?! Or finding the perfect black and white cookie recipe? To porn? (i'm not judging you, but i hear you can go blind if you keep touching *that*)
Call your representing dudes and dudettes. I'll even make it easy for you:
Contacting Congress by States
Start dialing those digits and pass this important message along.
DO IT!
