Badasses of the Day, Multilingual Edition

Badass of the Day, Uno: Jim, 9-11 Firefighter dad

Jim schools everyone, including Barry, who falsely labels those who oppose the LOCATION of the mosque.

Jim tells it like it is and does it in about one minute. Concise, articulate, and to the point.

Well done, Jim. And to think, you did it all without a 'prompter!

Badass of the Day, Dos: Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.)

Peter, my man, seems to be thinking like a Texan. Not only thinkin' like one, but shooting straight like one. Peter, who is the ranking member on the House Homeland Security Committee, called out the imam as "blackmailing" Americans to push through the Ground Zero mosque. King believes the iman is insinuating that if folks merely speak out against the mosque or if American do not allow the mosque to be built in the spot they covet, then we should expect his underlings terrorists to retaliate.

Sounds threatening to me. It also sounds like King came to the conclusion many of my fellow brothers and sisters did last week: the imam is threatening us.

How loving of him. What a unique and gracious way to bridge our differences. How thoughtful and accepting of others profound grief and agony.

But King takes it one step further, saying he believes the center is being planned on that particular spot "...to make a statement, not to build bridges..."

PEW! PEW! PEW!

Saying what most in Washington refuse to acknowledge. Saying what the majority of Americans believe.

If that ain't enough reason to love Petey, how about this: on his Internets (thanky al gore!) site, his thoughts, in part, about the 9-11 attacks and other terrorism:

“As we remember the victims, the heroes, and the families of 9/11, we must remain vigilant, as radical Islamic jihadists, who have pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda and other terror networks, continue to target our nation. Since last year’s 9/11 anniversary, terrorists have continued in their quest to attack our homeland and kill more innocent Americans. In the past year alone, we have seen attacks at Fort Hood, Times Square and aboard Northwest Flight 253, as well as plots to blow up the New York City subway system and federal buildings in Dallas and Springfield, Illinois.

“As our citizens remain vigilant, our federal government must remain diligent. Congress and the Obama Administration must work together in a cooperative and constructive manner to ensure that our military, Intelligence Community and state and local law enforcement have the resources to protect Americans from the terrorists who seek to kill us.”

First off, he includes, and rightly so, the one word the MSM and the WH leave out when reporting about radical jihadist terrorism: ISLAMIST. Then he boldly goes on to include the Ft. Hood shootings as a terrorist act (as do most thoughtful Americans) when Barry acts like it was just a military dude having a bad PTS day.

Ay, Dios Mio.

In light of the insanity and lack of leadership that engulfs America at the moment, allow me to thank you, Pete, for standing in the face of such a shit-storm, for having the intestinal fortitude to stand OUR ground, for us. I appreciate it, and I know many others do as well.

You're a fine American, and if I may be so bold, I'd like to make you an honorary Texan, amigo. Your holster, gun and ammo are ready to be picked up anytime you're ready.

Good for Peter King! I'm sick of politicians pandering to the people who are trying to kill us. Ridiculous!

andrew: nothing better than someone taking a stand against a bunch of hoods.
