It was standing room only at the Boston Brighton Tea Party organised by the Freedom Association early this evening at which Dan Hannan was guest speaker. He said that it was time to "bring sanity and order back to the public finances" an that had to be done by reducing expenditure rather than increasing taxes.
Looks like your beloved Austria and Italy are lagging behind the anger curve.

As if I needed another reason to ♥ Starbucks: Many businesses have banned customers from openly carrying firearms in states that otherwise allow it, though Starbucks has yet to prevent anyone from packing heat in its stores.
I feel infinitely safer knowing my fellow licensed right-to-carry peeps are frequenting the same places I am. (note to lefties: here in Texas you MUST complete a classroom course, pass a written test, and show shooting proficiency before you have the right to carry. you are then fingerprinted by the state and the FBI and backgrounds checks take place. This procedure carries a significant cost and takes a commitment of time to complete. I recommend it to everyone.)
PEW PEW PEW! (but only if you make us)

Filed under Get In Line Buddy (Matt Damon speaks):
Damon admits he's "disappointed" in the man who replaced George W. Bush.
"Politics is compromise," says the actor, who campaigned hard for Barack Obama. But Damon feels his candidate has compromised too much. "I'm disappointed in the health care plan and in the troop buildup in Afghanistan. Everyone feels a little let down because, on some level, people expected all their problems to go away. But real change comes from everyday people. You can't wait for a leader."
From A Gal On The Front Lines Of The Texas Governor's Race: Debra Medina, new star or America's right, is firing up the race for Texas Governor
Well, she was. Watching Debra debate the likes of the politically entrenched Perry and Hutchison was like watching a revelation. She was hitting her marks, she was taking them down, most folks you talked to LOVED her. Could she actually win this thang?! The predominate thought was yes ma'am, she could. Exciting politics.
Then, well, then she went on Glenn Beck and shot herself in the race.
Only once has Medina slipped up – in an interview she gave to the conservative radio host Glenn Beck. On his show Medina was asked if she thought the US government might have had a role in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She replied: "I don't." She then went on to expand disastrously upon that answer. "I don't have all the evidence there… I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There are some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there, so I have not taken a position on that," she said.
Doesn't matter to use that she was taken off guard as she has said since that interview, she should have been prepared AND she should have answered with more assurance and confidence than she did. Texas was buzzin' after that slip up. Was she a Truther?! It has wounded her campaign, some think mortally.

And finally, the latest healthcare thuggery from Washington.
The White House called for a "simple up-or-down" vote on health care legislation Sunday as Speaker Nancy Pelosi appealed to House Democrats to get behind President Barack Obama's chief domestic priority even it if threatens their political careers.
In voicing support for a simple majority vote, White House health reform director Nancy-Ann DeParle signaled Obama's intention to push the Democratic-crafted bill under Senate rules that would overcome GOP stalling tactics.
Yes, they are calling it GOP stall tactics, instead of Americans HATE this plan and want it to die the death it deserves.
I can't wait to see if the Dems will sacrifice their careers for the The One, the Almighty Barry. ~cue music here~ If they do, they are the proverbial sheep that they continually accuse the right, Rush's followers, Glenn's followers, and Tea Partiers of being.
Baaaaaaaaaa.....

Ahnuld is a damned fool. And besides, we need to cut taxes and spending. Like "Love and Marriage," you [shouldn't] have one without the other.
Poor Matt Damon. Disappointed is he? Well, I'm sure he'll get plenty of comforting from his good friend Ben Affleck.
Anyone who is a Troofer, or unable to answer a simple question about Troofers, deserves to go down to abject defeat. That lack of judgment blunts any possible good that the candidate might have in mind. Tolerating divergent viewpoints is healthy. Being unclear on crazy ideas is a disqualification for office. Sort of like saying "I don't know much about the Nazis, but they did make the trains run on time."
The irony of Pelosi's demand that her fellow Democrats fall on their swords and vote for reconciliation is that no matter how it comes out, her district is absolutely safe. Whether she's still the Speaker a year from now or not, she'll still be the Congress Critter from San Francisco. Yuck!
Oh no, poor Matt Damon. He needs a hug. Might I suggest a polar bear?
law: you used your hammer with skill and precision! well done :)
andrew:seriously, you have got to stop saying stuff that makes me spit on myself!
