Seat Brown

Fixin' to get interesting, again.

"We represent Senator-elect Scott Brown. We understand that the election returns from Massachusetts cities and towns were transmitted this morning to the State Secretary's Office and by the State Secretary to the Governor's Office. While Senator-elect Brown had tentatively planned to be sworn into office February 11, he has been advised that there are a number of votes scheduled prior to that date, For that reason, he wants certification to occur immediately. As he is the duly elected United States Senator from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, he is entitled to be seated now.

The scheduled swear-in is Feb. 11.

Stay tuned....

I can't believe Brown hasn't been seated yet and that they are getting to run bills through!

Patti: Under Senate precedent, and the new Massachusetts special election law, he became the Senator the day the election was over, and everything else is a formality. As usual, the Democrats have ignored both precedent and law (including the speed with which the underwater motorist was rushed into the office those eons ago).

I'll be doing a followup article over at Commentarama on the current situation and at least one major reason why Brown and the Republicans got tired of the stalling and started getting justifiably pushy. It posts this coming Friday.

Patti, I believe that comment is not politically correct. Fix it now or be forever scorned by the left. Oh wait, they don't like you anyway, nevermind.
