Made Me Smile

Made me smile, thinking of Lt. Dan (reader):

Rep.
Ron Paul won the most support for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination in an unofficial straw poll of conservative activists attending an annual conference.

A libertarian from Texas who has railed against spending and the Federal Reserve, Paul won the Saturday contest at the Conservative Political Action Conference with 31 percent backing. He has sought the presidential nomination in the past and attracted a following among a segment of voters frustrated with Washington.

Made me smile, thinking of smart, funny, kickass women everywhere (parts 1 & 2):

Made me smile, thinking of Al Gore's greed biting him in his frozen behind as the Global Warming movement (think giant turd) takes its biggest hit yet:

Environmentalists are still trying to avoid pulling the plug, but the corpse is already cool to the touch and soon it will begin to smell. As the global greens move from the denial stage of the grief process, brace yourself for some eloquent, petulant and arrogant rage. Tears will be shed and hands will be wrung. The world is stupid, uncaring, unworthy to be saved. Horrible Republicans, evil Chinese, demented know-nothing climate skeptics have ruined the world and condemned our grandchildren to lives of sorrow and pain. Messengers will be shot; skeptics will be blamed for asking questions and the media (and the internet) will be blamed for reporting the answers.

Yeah, that's funny enough, but the Best. Line. Evah:

Frankly, I blame Al Gore.

Poor Al. Hope the Pulitzer is keepin' him warm.

Made me smile, thinking of how sometimes, the crazy guy who loves America and won't stop hammering until we regain what we have lost, the nutso that makes us shake our heads in worry as we wonder about his mental health, the emotional roller coaster who cries on cable television as he makes over-the-top statements to point us home, sometimes he simply gets it right:

Fox News host Glenn Beck drew cheers from the conservative faithful Saturday evening with sharp criticism of Republicans and Democrats alike in a speech that repeatedly hit upon the theme of personal responsibility.

"We choose our own destiny," Beck said in the closing speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference. "All men are created equal. All men will not end up equal."

Couldn't have said it better myself.
