Net Neutrality

Net Neutrality = Fairness Doctrine for our beloved Internets (thanky al gore!) = Screw you, you Internet growers and builders and surfers.

Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) spoke against net neutrality regulations today at an event put on by the Safe Internet Alliance. Representing the songwriters, singers, actors, producers and other entertainers in Memphis and Nashville, she said the creative community does not want the federal government to interfere with how they are able to get content to consumers via the Internet.

"Net neutrality, as I see it, is the fairness doctrine for the Internet," she said. The creators "fully understand what the Fairness Doctrine would be when it applies to TV or radio. What they do not want is the federal government policing how they deploy their content over the Internet and they want the ISPs to manage their networks and deploy the content however they have agreed on with ISP. They do not want a czar of the Internet to determine when they can deploy their creativity over the Internet. "They do not want a czar to determine what speeds will be available....We are watching the FCC very closely as it relates to that issue."

Yeah, anything the feds want to have their hand in spells trouble for you and me. It's a freedom grab. Big Brother wants to czar you up on the Internets. But, you're cool with that, right?

The Federal Communications Commission is considering aggressive moves to stake out its authority to oversee consumer access to the Internet, as a recent court hearing and industry opposition have cast doubt on its power over Web service providers.

Aggressive moves. Stake out. Oversee. Power. Sounds benign enough.

Those of you who read here that fall into the age bracket of 13-37 will want to pay special attention to the next item up for bid.

At issue, some FCC officials say, is the future of how Americans will communicate and receive information. One in five U.S. homes has swapped landline telephone service for wireless. Most of those phones have Web browsers that are fast enough to watch videos and navigate traffic in real time. Consumers are also adopting ultra-high-speed Internet services over fiber and cable for 3-D games and videoconferencing.

Feds WANT that. You're cool with that too, right? My fervent hope is that all that hollering those of us on the right have been doing since the election, about The Fairness Doctrine and its evils, is now making sense.

FEDS WANT THE INTERNETS!

Brings to mind the Chinese government and how it looks out for their people. China tells web companies to obey controls DO IT!

Just in case you are still on the fence about this serious issue, let me leave you with this chilling quote: The agency also could ask Congress to grant it explicit authority over Internet service providers.

Congress in your business = We are here to eff you up!

Social Security, Medicare, VA Hospitals, Public Education, Special Interest Groups, Cap and Trade, Illegal Immigration, or Healthcare anyone?!

This whole net neutrality thing is something I need to look into at some point. It seems to be a battle between one set of large companies versus another set of large companies, with us stuck in the middle.

Net neutrality is just another battle between rich companies who are known as rich companies and rich companies posing as poor and downtrodden companies. In reality, it's all about "show me the money," and right now the left seems to have more of it than the right.

Wonk said it right earlier. "Greed is Great" I believe this is our biggest problem in our society today. It affects every aspect of life. Everyone is looking for the easy buck. Looking for fast money. Look at every proposal the dems are making, healthcare, cap and trade, net neutrality. They have nothing to do with the constitution or governing our country. They are all about money and power. GREEDY Bastards
