Right on the nose...

Yesterday I had an epiphany about why those who voted for Barry, those still on board with his policies, haven't had their gut check on who this guy really is. My hypothesis is that they underestimate him. Just as they underestimated Bush. It's a pattern.

Perhaps it is my own brain gyrations trying to make sense of the their unfathomable sensibilities towards this man and what I consider to be his utter contempt for this country. It's possible I am wrong, but as test takers know when in doubt, go with your first instinct.

When my opinions are opposed by those who support him, it is with complaints of letting Obama have a chance at the office. I am instructed to keep my pie-hole shut if I haven't anything nice to say. I induce cringes, accusations and Bush-bashing (can't quit ya!) when pulling back the curtain on their wizard.

My angst over why they refused to see what I could clearly see had me turning the conundrum over and over and over until BAMMO! I understood: They most assuredly underestimate Obama's agenda. These folks aren't stupid (hint: neither is Bar. he knows he must appeal to their vanity of intelligence). Many are highly educated leaders and teachers within the community (although, let's face it, sometimes all that book learnin' gets in the way of common sense). These people are well read and plugged in. These folks are tax-payers (well, not all of them. again, let's face it, Bar got elected with a great boost from those who are counting on his assistance...hehe, see what i did there?!).

Even when Barry blatantly uses words to tell them who he is, those that still support him can't hear it. They are clinging to their hope and change. We will have to pry their YES, WE CAN! from their cold dead hands. It's a Battle Royale between those witnessing and acknowledging the reality of what is unfolding, against the those that are begging for everyone to just get along and let their man govern (on his terms of course).

They underestimated Bush. They still do. Their number one go to bullet point is that Bush is a stupid man based on his mangling of the language. Yet, when we poke fun of Barry's use of the teleprompter (don't leave home without it!) we are chastised. Can't we see how charismatic and articulate he is?! He's brilliant even when telling the tele to speed up! Oooooo, Barry....

Really? That's your logical argument? Many folks mangle the language. Has nothing to do with his intelligence.

Bush wasn't an elitist, nor did he yield to them, which of course pissed elitist's off (as is their modus operandi: ACKNOWLEDGE MY INTELLIGENT SUPERIORITY OR BE DAMNED!). He had a swagger of confidence that was confused with arrogance (that happens when you live in Texas). He successfully led this country in the aftermath of 9-11 and has been criticised in the aspects of keeping us safe. He wasn't a wonk (HOLLA!) but a man of action. The left greatly underestimated him and his intent.

My epiphany helps me to understand the left. Doesn't make me like it any more, but now I have understanding, and that is a place to start. When they are applauding Obama's unwillingness to let go of Bush and get on with leading, they underestimate Barry's honesty in his part of the state of affairs.

OBAMA: "Number one, we inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit....That wasn't me." -- in Missouri.

THE FACTS:

Congress, under Democratic control in 2007 and 2008, held the purse strings that led to the deficit Obama inherited. A Republican president, George W. Bush, had a role too: He signed the legislation.

Obama supported the emergency financial bailout package in Bush's final months -- a package Democratic leaders wanted to make bigger.

To be sure, Obama opposed the Iraq war, a drain on federal coffers for six years before he became president. But with one major exception, he voted in support of Iraq war spending.

The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget has estimated Obama's policy proposals would add a net $428 billion to the deficit over four years, even accounting for his spending reduction goals. Now, the deficit is nearly quadrupling to $1.75 trillion.

When they quote old polling stats about how Barry has the approval of the majority of folks, they underestimate even those that voted for Obama who are sensing that Barry isn't all he said he was. Here are today's numbers:

Strongly Approve: 34%
Strongly Disapprove: 32%

But even more telling are these (today's) polling numbers:

The US is on the wrong track: 58%
America's best days are the future: 39%

Wow. A head-on collision between liking Obama, thinking he's a swell guy, but not supporting his policies, is brewing. Just like your momma always told you, character matters. Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are.

Underestimating Obama and his crew is dangerous, yet no one wants to be wrong about the guy they brought to the dance. Listen to your friends; find a new boyfriend. This one is eying your inheritance of freedom. He wants everything you have. Are you just going to let him take it?

Wednesday Wankers

#1: Wake-up.
#2: Bang head against wall.
#3: Repeat.

Arlen Specter's action of switching parties, boiled down to the most elemental point: Self-serving. Arlen (not just a fictitious town in Texas on King of the Hill!) took a look around him, studied polling numbers, pooped himself and then announced that he had no choice but to change parties if he had a glimmer of winning the next election: "In the course of the last several months ... I have traveled the state and surveyed the sentiments of the Republican Party in Pennsylvania and public opinion polls, observed other public opinion polls and have found that the prospects for winning a Republican primary are bleak."

Well, that was simple. I can't win as a Republican = Switch parties! These are the brainiacs representing us.

Was it a big surprise that he could consider himself a Dem? Not for me. In my mind he has been on the other side for years. He's a lib, plain and simple. The part that pisses me off is that while his intent is clearly to secure his job and doing anything to achieve that goal, he lies about philosophical differences on the way out the door: Veteran Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter switched from the Republican to the Democratic Party on Tuesday, saying he has found himself increasingly "at odds with the Republican philosophy."

Ok then.

It's cowardice. There should be a law against running as a Republican/Democrat/Indie and then changing your party affiliation after the fact. But, if that's the way the left wants to play it, I say the right runs a bunch of "democrats" and then once in office BAMMO! change those lefties into righties. Well, only after deep reflection and checking up on polling stats of course.

Swine Flu. DON'T CALL IT SWINE FLU! Ah, the renaming ridiculousness continues in this administration. It is what it is folks. Renaming it doesn't change the reality.

I think the uproar, the government driven fear, the silliness (at this point) about the Swine flu is remarkable in the fact that it's one more opportunity Barry and his ilk to strengthen their grip on out lives. Fact: about 36,000 people die from flu-related causes.

36,000! And to date we have had ONE death (I am not diminishing this death, only using it as a stat) in the U.S. so far. That death was actually a Mexican National that crossed the border seeking medical attention. Yeah, and we want socialized medicine. Low cost health care = get what you pay for.

The flu kills people every year. 36,000! I don't recall panic over that number last flu season. Nor the season before that, or before that. 5% to 20% of the population gets the flu. We aren't even close to that statistic yet. Taking what we know, or what is being reported, against what is typical for the course run by a typical flu season, one can draw the conclusion that there is a panic setting in that is most reasonably unreasonable.

Sure, there is the possibility that we can cross over into a pandemic, there's also the possibility that Barry and his gang will get the national debt under control. But, the likelihood is small.

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) found an opening to suggest via a YouTube video posted on his Web site that, as a physician, he believes people should be concerned – about the government’s “out-of-control” response to the outbreak.

Paul recalled that during a swine-flu scare in the 1970s, more people died from a government vaccination program than from the disease itself. “The big question is, does bigger government always solve these problems?” he asks. “They usually make things much worse. All I’m asking people to do is step back and think for a minute, rather than rushing and panicking and taking advantage of opportunities like this.”

Have you asked yourself yet, why? Why the hubbub, bub? I indeed have asked myself, and the answer is power. Rahm: "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”

Gotcha. Man, could the Swine Flu have picked a better time to mutate into a human-to-human jumping virus during our perfect storm of YES, WE CAN!?

My favorite hysterical reaction from those who wield YOUR power is: Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.), member of the House Homeland Security Committee, is calling for the “immediate” and “complete” closure of the U.S. border with Mexico until officials in that country can contain the spread of the H1N1 virus, or swine flu.

Close the borders! Hoo-ha! Sure. Ok. We have been told that we can't close the borders to terrorists, but to the Swine Flu, CLOSE THE BORDERS!

Deep breaths people.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Air Force one photo shoot. It's being reported that Obama is "furious" over the New York fly-by. Does anyone out there believe for one minute that he didn't know about this?! Or that Gibbs didn't know? Or Rahm?! Doesn't pass the smell test for me.
Federal officials knew that sending two fighter jets and a 747 from the presidential fleet to buzz ground zero and Lady Liberty might set off nightmarish fears of a 9/11 replay, but they still ordered the photo-op kept secret from the public.
A total disregard for the public. They will have what they want, when they want it peasant. Why can't those who voted for this man SEE it? He says one thing, then does another. He is "furious". Uh-huh. Furious that it didn't go over well, or fake-furious to soothe the psyche of the people traumatized on 9-11?
The cost of fear and panic (I see a pattern here!) was one thing. How about the monetary cost?
The flight by the VC-25, a modified Boeing Co. 747, and two F-16 fighter jets cost $328,835, Air Force spokeswoman Vicki Stein said.
So, while you are told that the sacrifice of our economic downturn will fall to every citizen, what they really meant was the cost will fall to you, not them. For such a technologically advanced administration, you'd think someone would have suggested the photo-shop angle. Huh.
In the category of : Obama gets it.
"Those of you who are watching certain news channels on which I'm not very popular, and you see folks waving tea bags around, Obama said, “let me just remind them that I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security.”
“But,” Obama continued, “let's not play games and pretend that the reason [for the deficit] is because of the Recovery Act."
I got nothing to add.
Class is in Session
Richard Phillips, the recently rescued boat captain (from Somali pirates), called those in the military "Titans" and I agree. Those who serve this country have unimaginable tasks placed in their care. They do the job they are charged with, they take care of business, and I for one am grateful. Yet, on occasion, they take flack from ignorant folks who have no idea of the danger that our uniformed men and women find themselves in day after day.
Today I salute all our unnamed men and women who take the their job seriously in the face of opposition. I salute those who stand by their convictions against losing odds. I salute those who continue to fight on. I give you the unnamed Bad Ass of the day.
Bad Ass of the Day:
*Caution! Language is NSFW/EXTREME. As a side note, I scoff as he tells the Iraqis to stop acting "like women" in various situations. I would stand side-by-side with him any day. Just sayin'.
Class dismissed.
Monday Madness
Welcome! Today, as in every day, I'm blogging from the epicenter of the Swine Flu Pandemic in the U.S., sans mask! I am feeling fine, no piggy symptoms yet, but that could change at any given moment. Be Alert, people! Be Aware!
Yesterday, as the CDC offered their opinions to the schools here and what should be done, they also offered some helpful suggestions to those living in the affected county such as staying within the county borders and avoiding the neighboring cities, basically be good neighbors and don't stray over the county line. Oh man, I loved that one. Telling Americans to stay within their borders. Oooooo, how I laughed.
The Swine Flu is here. The schools are out today, and as of today, for the rest of the week. Here's what the kids heard when told that school had been cancelled for the week: Spring Break II! Whoohoo!! To the malls! To the restaurants! To the public places to ensure the spread of all things swiney!
Here's what the parents heard, even as they went to work this morning leaving their teenagers to do the right thing: Be Alert! Be Aware! Stay home kids!
Riiiight
. Seriously, I think the outbreak could be better maintained if the kiddos were kept in the schools instead of this: “The kids are doing a happy dance,” said Ken Singel, who has a middle-school and high-school student in the district. “My wife's telling me that she's not going to let 'em out, but ... the little one is already agitating for Schlitterbahn.”
Good grief.
For those of you who like to track stuff, go HERE for the Swine Flu track map by Google. Creepy, zombie-esque fun.
Barry is easing America to the left without hardly a notice as folks try to hang on to their jobs, housing and savings: From the conscience clause to stem cell research, President Obama has shifted social policy to the left in his first 100 days in the White House. But the reversal of several of his predecessor's regulations has garnered hardly a whimper -- leaving many to wonder how much social issues matter to Americans amid two wars and an economic crisis.
Read: In times of war and economic upheaval, social issues will matter less. No kidding. The burning issue on most American's mind is how to support your family. This has not escaped Barry and his crack team of socialists.
"It's cultural aggression," former Bush adviser Karl Rove told FOXNews.com, adding that policy changes that "inject government" into moral matters -- like the conscience clause -- will have "enormous consequences."
That's change you can count on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In the article 100 Days, 100 Mistakes for Barack Obama (by the New York Post, no less), Barry's push to dismantle America as we know it is astounding to see in black and white review. As I read through the 100 mistakes, it made me pine for Clinton. At least back then you knew exactly what you were getting, you knew exactly what was coming. With Bar, all you get are lies backtracked and supported by more lies. It's a disgrace.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Barry's health care bill. Once again, the threat of using the legislative tactic of reconciliation is on the table. Not only on the table but placed there and approved by Bar himself. No surprise, as he will do whatever it takes to jam his policy down the American people's piehole. One more step in the quiet shift to the left that he is hoping you don't notice as you scramble to make ends meet. The problem is that most of his policies will eventually cost you. Cost you more than you ever thought possible.
President Obama and his Democratic allies in Congress are poised to trample Republican opposition to his health care bill with a controversial legislative tactic known as reconciliation.
The fast-track process would protect Obama's ambitious plan to overhaul the U.S. health care system from a potential GOP filibuster and limit the Republicans' ability to get concessions. It also would give Democrats far more control over the specifics of the health care legislation.
And if you think that the option of reconciliation is cautiously and rarely used, think again. They plan to use it as much as you'll let them: But Democrats aren't stopping at health care. Obama's plan to cut private banks and other lending institutions out of the market for student loans would also move on a filibuster-free path.
Ah, there's that hope and change they're always yammering about. There's that bipartisan spirit the Dems advised us they wanted to embrace. There's Pelosi's promise of being "the most ethical congress in history" ringing true. There's Obama's promise of transparency for all to see through. It's a feel good moment, right?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Some days, all you can do is open the door, step outside, face the oppressive winds and hope like hell you're smart enough to not get beaned in the head with debris.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Because I worry for your mental health in these dark days, I'll leave you with a laugh.
Obama talking to the teleprompter:
Don't leave home without it!
Blech
Blech. I get that feeling when I see Janeane Garofalo's character still alive on 24 (for the love of all that is torturous Jack, kill her now).
Blech. I get that feeling when the Dems have a climactic lovefest for Gore by shutting down free speech for anyone (in this case, UK's Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher) who dares to challenge him on his "facts" of our doomed planet.
Blech. I get that feeling when Pelosi tries to fake out America with her denial of knowing about waterboarding during the Bush administration. Here's my favorite line of all time concerning the subject: "In fairness, the environment was different then because we were closer to Sept. 11 and people were still in a panic," said one U.S. official present during the early briefings. "But there was no objecting, no hand-wringing. The attitude was, 'We don't care what you do to those guys as long as you get the information you need to protect the American people.'"
So. If I understand this correctly, there are circumstances in which one (the one here = liberal leaning current non-torturer) would not be opposed to torture. The premise is you need "panic" and a particular "environment" and, the best part, "fairness" in order to not "object" nor "hand-wring". Which then leads me to believe that if you believe in applying torture in some circumstances, then you philosophically believe in applying torture. Ah-ha. TORTURER!
Which brings me to Bush. Each and every current hand-wringer who served under Bush, each and every current torture objector, hollering for the blood of those who agreed to such tactics, better get in line behind those they want to prosecute. You'd be naive to think we don't understand your involvement (personally, i'd like to thank you for your torturous thumbs-up service. for once, you did the right thing). You'd be naive to think if you come after those who served this nation honorably, who protected the citizens of this land by difficult choices, that we won't hold you responsible.
Blech. I get that feeling whenever Janet Napolitano opens her pie-hole and then doesn't understand, or refuses to acknowledge, the damage she is doing.
White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said the right-wing extremist report originated in the Bush administration and Napolitano was working to keep the nation safe from terrorists.
"She doesn't have time for these games — and neither does the president," Shapiro said.
"Games." Tells you everything, doesn't it?
Blech. I get that feeling when I see laughable stories in the "news" that give us Timmy's take on the economy.
The global economy has shown signs that the worst of the recession may be easing in recent weeks, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner wrote in the Financial Times newspaper on Friday.
Uh-huh. Easing. Hardly. We still haven't had the credit card industry brought to its knees, nor the commercial real estate market crash. Hang on peepers. It's gonna get worse, but we'll still have Timmy telling us that things are easing. Don't you feel better? Dontcha?
Blech. I get that feeling when Barry tells the Legislative Branch what to do and they, his awestruck majority, walks lock-step with him while those of us denied a voice in the process remember that 2010 is closer than they think.
Prodded by the White House, Democrats stepped up their efforts Thursday night to put a budget plan in place by April 29 so as to give President Barack Obama another victory within his first 100 days — and a better shot at winning health care reform later this year.
The president's top advisers came to the Capitol for the talks, hours after the president himself made clear to congressional leaders that he wants the agreement to allow health care reform to move through the Senate free of any filibuster threat.
Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) was still hesitant later to commit publicly to the so-called reconciliation language, which triggers an expedited process going around the customary 60 vote requirement to cut off debate in the Senate. But one participant said the chances were "fairly good" that Obama will get the procedural language, and Republicans are largely resigned to the president getting his way after the White House meeting.
The emphasis is mine. Since when do the many we elected to be our voice get muzzled by the one? Since The Messiah deems it so, that's when. Now, shut up and know your role. The puppet master reigns supreme. "...the president himself..."
And to those elected Republicans: You will be on our minds as well when we hit the polls in '10. Grow a freakin' backbone. Start fighting back on injustice instead of resigning yourselves to defeat. I know 10 year old girls with more fight in them then you. You may be the minority in Washington, but you have a job to do. Get to it fools.
Blech. I get that feeling when Sean Penn does anything, but most especially when he tells Huffonians how much he loves Chavez, while not quiting Bush (or Cheney or Limbaugh or...blahblahblah).
I know President Chavez well. Whether or not one agrees with all his policies, what is certainly true of Chavez is that he is a warm and friendly man with a robust sense of humor (who daily risks his own life for his country in ways Dick Cheney could never imagine). To treat such a man coldly is akin to spitting on him. As a country we've done enough of that. Say what you will, but it has only resulted in the self-celebration of our smirking spitters, while costing us international respect, American lives, and left wounds in the hands of our children's future. The Cheneys, down to the O'Reillys and Hannitys and Limbaughs, effectively hate the principles upon which we were founded. They are among the greatest cowards in all of American history. I applaud an American President who's tough enough...to smile.
He likes Chavez. He's warm and friendly. Chavez is such a good guy. Really. Smile worthy. Hand-clasp, brotha-from-anutha-mutha-style, worthy. Not at all the violator of human and civil rights, elections tampering, discrimination on political grounds among other nasty things some would have you believe. Nah.
Reading that article is like reading a page from Barry's handbook of the kind of change he's aiming for.
Blech. It's the feeling I get when I wake up every morning and read/watch/hear the news of Bar's outrageousness of the day. The honeymoon isn't even over and I'm already dreaming of the divorce. And hoping that there is something left for the settlement.
More Torture, Cause You Deserve It
The torture topic is causing an uproar. Lefties are screaming for the carcasses of Bush's legal advisors. Righties are screaming witch-hunt. Pelosi and Congress are trying like hell to stay under the radar about what they knew when. (hint: she/they knew what the President knew with nary a peep)
The game Barry is playing is beyond dangerous. He started (prior to his Inauguration) by saying this was a time "to look forward" followed by Tuesday's contradicting of his Chief of Staff's (the dude who should be in the know, but don't be fooled here, he IS in the know, so it begs the question of what was the set-up for?) statement of ...no prosecutions were contemplated and now is not a time for "anger and retribution." Not to mention the released incomplete interrogation memos being dissected on every single "news" channel as to what this means for our enemies and their understanding of what we do to keep the country safe.
In the most recent instance, Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair acknowledged in a memo to the intelligence community that Bush-era interrogation practices yielded had "high-value information,” then omitted that admission from a public version of his assessment.
Have you asked yourself why the omission? Yes, the torture tactics worked and saved our country the horror of more injury, death and suffering. No, we will only tell the public that there was indeed horrible torture. So horrible. Mean horrible. B-U-S-H horrible. GAAAAAA! Get the prosecution pitchforks!
Man, talk about extremists. Ms. Napolitano, where's your memo on them?!
By opening this particular door, Big Brother Bar is signaling to those that serve their country in treacherous times of murky enemy waters that if you do your job, you may be prosecuted for it later. Now go out there and be all that you can be! Don't let the fact that you may be prosecuted later color your decisions at all. It's all good.....for now.
The great thing is that none of Barry's legal advisors will face such an issue in their role to combat terrorists. As far as I know, there are no laws against tickle feathers, stern stare-downs or wagging fingers at those who seek to harm us.
Here's what I propose: Those of you against using forceful methods of extracting information from our enemies can have the next batch of thugs to cross America's borders. You do what you think is reasonable to get the information you know will save many innocent lives. Make sure they're comfy and well-fed. Make sure they are lawyered-up. Give them rights bought with American blood. By the by, did we mention your loved ones are in peril? That they have rounded up all those who mean everything to you and have strapped them with bombs set to go off by the end of the day? You take your time though. Timmy's hysterical crying is secondary to the terrorist's rights. Be reasonable. Be the right kind of American, be better than them. Don't let that ticking bomb fluster you. Timmy will get over it, as will Grandma and your favorite college professor. Come on now, really put your back into that tickle feather, stern stare-down and finger wagging.
Yeah.
When you realize that your methods are ludicrous, that you will do anything to keep those you love safe against mad-men, feel free to call on those who understand that words ain't gonna cut it. That there's gotta be some poking and prodding to get what it is we need from THOSE WHO INTEND TO KILL US.
To those who are against torture in any form, I ask that you read the following article. Keep an open mind if you dare. (Hat-Tip to Melissa) Michael Levin's The Case For Torture
First 100 days? Horrifying. Madness. Downward Spiral. Nauseating. Disgusting. Expected. The American people have been pnw'd*.
Torture Shmorture
Torture. It's necessary as hell. Does it work? Yes, sir. Ask those whose loved ones were killed on 9-11 if they think we should stop waterboarding. Ask those who live in L. A., where this information thwarted another attack, if they want less stringent methods of gaining information from terrorists (even as Blair backtracks). In the most recent instance, Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair acknowledged in a memo to the intelligence community that Bush-era interrogation practices yielded had "high-value information,” then omitted that admission from a public version of his assessment.
Voicing my approval of unorthodox information gathering methods (if The Bamster can re-package offensive terms for those who support him, so can I) will probably move me up the Janet Napolitano Right-Wing Extremist's List. So be it. I suffer no distress in torturing those who serve to harm me or you. I'm a huge fan of these methods to gain information or just to even the score.
The seeming question on the media's lips today: Even if torture is distasteful and "wrong", yet yields results that keep us safe from those who seek to harm/kill us, should we participate in it?
The world is not as we wish it to be. There is no peace, nor will there ever be by current methods of bowing, apologizing, warmly hand-clasping, talking, talking then more talking with dictators/evil doers, finishing with blaming those Americans who happen to agree on the fundamental tenets this country was founded upon as being extremists themselves. Bamster gives more credence, more respect, more benefit of the doubt to those who have proven to be against us than his own hard-working taxpayers.
We cannot weaken ourselves because there are those who believe that peace will come when we take the high road. That we will have peace by the act of rejecting torture. Peace comes with a price. It doesn't come easy or clean, nor does the information that we need from those who seek to harm us. The problem is not hypothetical. There are factions, right this very moment, plotting to maim and kill Americans. The suggestion that we play nice while these terrorists get to use whatever methods they choose is ludicrous.
Bullies, in this case the terrorists, need to be met with the hammer of consequence. This is not a time to stand down. Otherwise, where is the deterrent? As a kid growing up in West Texas, I discovered that when bullied you better square up. If not, you'll get your ass handed to you every day until graduation. It's a life's lesson many kiddos learn early on that can be applied to "real" life. I have never witnessed a bully who softens his nastiness based on his victim's willingness to allow the abuse. That's just more reason to attack. The easier the target, the better.
If our sitting government doesn't get that, a child's understanding of how the real world works, we are in bigger trouble than I thought.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I can see that I haven't convinced everyone. Some of you are horrified. For my lefties in the crowd, maybe this will help: torture, if handled correctly, can be a method of funding pet government programs.

When 9-11 happened, I suggested that if we ever found Bin Laden (Yes, I know, he wasn't the only perpetrator) a fantastic way to fund the war would be to have an old-fashioned bare-fisted beat down. Charge folks one buck a pop. As many tickets as you care to buy.

Bin laden would be unarmed, as would you, and for the price of the ticket, you get one shot in the ring with him. So not to be cruel and because we Right-Wing Extremists have our limits, the hit you give would have to be above the belt and below the head. Once Bin Laden (or your terrorist here) shows signs of physical distress, he will be looked after medically and nursed back to health to start the bare-fisted beat down all over again until every ticket holder has their chance in the ring. For those who Bin Laden could physically take in a fight, he is restrained, defenseless as those in the buildings and planes, and the punch proceeds.

After the American people have their justice, we happily hand him over to the folks who make their living protecting this country. It's win-win (punch a terrorist - fund a war/pet government project). Make terrorists understand that if they choose to harm us, they also take the risk of facing us on our terms. After facing the physical fury of angry Americans who have lost loved ones in fiery buildings or downed planes, they would be begging to be waterboarded.

Whadda think?

Extremist Thoughts

"Are you willing to spend time studying the issues, making yourself aware, and then conveying that information to family and friends? Will you resist the temptation to get a government handout for your community? Realize that the doctor's fight against socialized medicine is your fight. We can't socialize the doctors without socializing the patients. Recognize that government invasion of public power is eventually an assault upon your own business. Perez Hilton in a Political Blog?!

Calling all Lefties, or at the very least those who disagree with me. I have a question. You have the answer. I open the floor to your voice.

Question: Why is it when someone, i.e. a righty, disagrees with you about gay marriage, the first reaction is to belittle and call names? Why the beating of your chest and the pulling of your hair? What is it you hope to accomplish with the stomping of your feet and the spewing of your hate?

Case in point: During the Miss USA Pageant, Perez Hilton asks Miss California “Vermont recently became the 4th state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit. Why or why not?” She disagrees. Then booed. Camera pans to Perez sulking. (he quickly takes to his video blog and calls her a "dumb bitch" for her answer and then precedes to tell us how she should have answered the question) The atomic boom is heard 'round the world. Miss California disagrees with gay marriage! See for yourself:

I want to know why the left is so offended that she spoke her mind, her truth. She wasn't nasty. She didn't call names. She was asked a question and answered honestly.

I think she showed courage. She had to know that the audience wasn't going to like her answer, that Perez would vilify her, yet she stood there, faced everyone, and gave it any way.

The fire this has ignited is typical of the left. MISS CALIFORNIA DOESN'T APPROVE OF GAY MARRIAGE! Obviously, time to assemble the tar and feathers.

Why?

And it's not just gay marriage, it's anytime someone dares to disagree. The vitriol of the left reigned over the liberal airwaves last week during the peacefully and legally held Tea Parties. Janeane Garofalo said, "This is about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism straight up. That is nothing but a bunch of teabagging rednecks.” Yet, when the left bashed Bush, as was their right, it was about the great American tradition of political dissent.

Those on the right who disagree with Obama are now being tagged as conservative "extremists" who may target "vulnerable" homecoming vets.

Huh.

Why? Seriously. I offer the question with no "gotcha" planned, no "AH-HA!" no nastiness at all. I am looking for enlightenment, for knowledge, for wisdom.

Anyone?

Reflection

EDIT: CNN has tried to "hide" the video below, but if you go HERE, you can see it. Thanks Michelle!

After more reflection about the Tea Parties, and being overwhelmed at what I experienced, I wondered about the rest of the U.S. and the Tea Parties outside of my typical circle of news. I rooted around the Internets (Thanky Al Gore!) and found that throughout the country over 800 parties were held. At first, that number seemed small to me considering the number of cities within our borders. But as I continued to consider the number 800, as in 800 events being held on one specific day for one specific purpose brought together through the Internets (Thanky Al Gore!) engine and one news outfit, I was floored. Really.

That small number, 800, represented hundreds of thousands of people, some of whom voted for The Bamster, who are tired. We are tired of having unread bills shoved down our throats, our hard-earned money being taken from us to give to those who are "less fortunate" in their life's decisions, being termed terrorists because we believe in the right to life, bearing arms, and stemming illegal immigration (and let's not forget if we happen to be a military vet) when the real terrorists are offered a warm hand of understanding, being advised that we are greedy and unpatriotic because we don't give enough, being admonished that we should accept defeat graciously because we lost the election while the opposition screams obscenities at us because they lost Prop 8, being expected to get past a cabinet filled with tax cheats when the ordinary guy would face the consequences of the law, all of which (and more) essentially degrades the future of the country as we know it.

800. That number represents the events of one day, but to me it represents the hundreds of thousands (and growing every day according to the polling numbers) who are determined to fight the audacity of errors being hailed as salve by the current administration. We are tired of the deceit and the bald-faced lying and the hypocrisy that Washington is bathing itself in, all the while telling us to believe they get it. That they get us.

If they got it, the number 800 would have no significance today. There would be no demonstrations or peaceful protests in front of state capitols all around the nation (and so early in an administration). If they got it we would be working together as a team to get us out of the mess we find ourselves in. If they got it, they wouldn't be forcing a political agenda and making things remarkably worse. If they got it, the bulk of Americans would get it.

Rule one in America: Don't try to bullshit a bullshiter.

One other thing that I'd like to mention here is that I attempted to get an idea of how the other side was feeling about the Tea Parties by rooting around the cable news channels that evening. The "teabagging" joke was everywhere. It was funny and naughty the first time, but as is the opposition's MO, they think they are clever as they try to insult those they think are slow of mind. Maddow's show was sleep-inducing as they laughed at their own jokes at our expense. On Thursday, Obermann had on Janeane Garofalo who had this to say about those who support the Tea Parties "Garofalo actually called Party-goers "a bunch of teabagging rednecks," adding "this is about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism straight up."

I remember thinking: This is why Fox kicks your ass. There is no news to hear, no news to see, only irritation, overused jokes and inflammatory ignorance aimed at the right and those who dare to have a difference of opinion. It's like Maddow and Mathews and Obermann are part of a high school public channel. The institution of liberal "journalism" has allowed the nasty mean girls air-time to mock what they refuse to understand.

Here's a clip I was sent that makes my point with a CNN reporter there to "report" on the news of the day (Hat Tip to Scott):

Note of interest: Oh how I loved the Jon Stewart Show when Bush was in office, but now I can't stomach it. Weird, right? Should be the other way around. While I am all for laughing at my own goofiness, or the insanity of someone I elected and supported into office, the condescension that comes from the left is astounding as they accuse us as being the dense ones. I liken the libs as the guy who can dish out the jokes but can't take it in return.

800 turned out to be significant. Don't let the mainstream media or the mean girls tell you otherwise.

BADASS of the DAY: Every citizen who supported, helped make a reality, or attended a Tea Party. I salute you!

EDIT: Just got confirmation of the number attending the SA Tea Party: 20,000! That's a lot of Badasses.

Tea Party Aftermath

One day removed from the San Antonio Tea Party and my brain still hasn't processed the event entirely. For rambling reasons, I'm switching to bullet points.

THE GOOD:

* The crowds were overwhelming. I knew a nerve had been hit prior to the event, but the numbers were amazing to see. From the very young in strollers to older folks using walkers (I kid you not), from city sidewalk sweepers to suits and ties, from black and white to every color in between, from Democrat and Republican to most assuredly the Independents, the melting pot that is America was well represented. Even now, as I write these words, my brain keeps reminding me WOW! The day was monumental in the enthusiastic spirit of our freedom to speak without the fear of government. Even those of us unfairly labeled "right-wing extremists."

* San Antonio does large crowds better than any place I have ever been. Folks were polite and caring and genuinely concerned that those around them were comfortable. More people helped me get to where I needed to go than I can count. (My first press pass newbness was showing. I couldn't find the press entrance to the press area , so I had to maneuver through the shoulder-to-sweaty-shoulder crowd. Oy.) From the biggest security dudes I have ever seen to the sweet lady in the wheelchair in the middle of the throng to the guy who helped me through a barricade which allowed me enter a restricted area that wasn't for press. (for the record, I had no idea I would end up in the VIP area. I was merely following the instructions given to me earlier by the media folks running the show to "get over the barricades.")

* When a medical emergency was called, the crowd parted like the Red Sea. I have added that moment to my "Coolest Things I Have Ever Seen" list. In the end, they were fine (oh Anderson, how I know this pleases you)

* An event like this doesn't happen without a multitude of energetic people. While a grassroots effort is certainly different from a professionally handled event, I have to tip my hat to those that took the Tea Party by the horns and made it happen. Bravo.

*Glenn Beck was a draw for many. Eh. I like me some Glenn in measured doses. Easy to OD. He did an outstanding job riling he crowd. And he had some badass security dressed like the Secret Service. One dude gave me the hairy-eye as I approached the stage with my press pass and tiny Canon Power Shot. Funny stuff.

* The San Antonio cops were on their A-game. Funniest moment came when one of them asked me if she should take a pic of Ted Nugent. I suggested she pull him aside, um over to our side, as if she had an issue with him and then we could all get closer shots. She laughed, hesitated, then was all back to being a professional. "No." She kept her good eye on me the rest of the time.

* Looking around at the crowd, it became apparent that many put a lot of thought, time and effort into making signs and dressing up. And even though parking was at a premium early on (limited by 12pm, six hours before the actual start time of the Tea Party), many disregarded the inconvenience and parked on outlying streets, having to walk a good way to get to Alamo Plaza. Well done.

* The seemingly collective voice of those getting angrier by the day.

* Ted Nugent. Love his politics. Loved watching him play.

THE NOT SO GOOD:

* The Alamo is hallowed ground. I was uncomfortable with it being relegated to prop status. Glenn Beck says he loves The Alamo, and I believe him, but it's not something that should be used for ratings. It's how I felt once I learned that San Antonio's Tea Party was being held there, and my feeling grew stronger once I saw for my own eyes.

* Hearing Glenn Beck riling the crowd with talk of seceding. Watching Glenn tell the crowd that Perry (Texas Gov) talked about it with him on his radio program. Listening to the crowd chanting "Secede! Secede!" Dadgum it. When Glenn was raising his voice and the crowd was eating every word, I turned to face the throng and it was reminiscent of Bush announcing we were going after the bastards that brought down the planes on 9-11. Chilling, yet didn't hold any real significance to your everyday life (yet). Look, I'm not against doing what needs to be done, but the Tea Party wasn't the start of a revolution and Perry is running for reelection and has an agenda for rhetoric, so my point is let's keep things real folks. Like I said before, when a Tea Party is thought to be ridiculous, when folks are so fed up that they take to the streets, leaving their jobs and all security, and protest without signing waivers and making shirts, when they are so mad that nothing else matters, that's when you can meet me at the Alamo.

* The celebrity of the event. Smacked of pop culture, kinda like a Disney-ized tax revolt.

* The confusion of those running the event, especially in the media room. My press pass had been given away before I got there, even though I was arrived early to pick it up. Thankfully, I was offered the pass of one of the girls who was working with a crew (she already had clearance). The event planners oked this exchange and used a Sharpie to mark through her name and put mine in. I was also promised I would not get arrested for forging the pass. But as I stated above, it was all grassroots, baby.

My personal perception of the event left me cautiously excited about the possibility of real change within our political system. I say cautiously because I have little use for organized protests. Yet, I believe that if people are serious, the Tea Parties will serve as the first step.

The day allowed people to talk to others of a like mind. And there was plenty of talk happening. I listened to those around me and this movement seems real. People are genuinely mad as hell. The opposition dismisses these folks at their own peril. The open talk of seceding brought that home like nothing else. In December, if a Texan had talked of such things, eyes would be rolling from all political sides. Today it is a bandied about option on the table. It's like we're living in George Castanza's bizarro world.

So onward. Let's see where this takes us. I honestly can't wait to see.

Now, how about some pics?

The Nug doing what he does best:

Some patriotic dude:

This father and daughter seemed so excited to be there. Politically-minded at 10!

Teleprompter jokes filled the signs:

Look at that crowd!

This guy was polite, yet ticked. I loved talking with him.

In the thick of things.

From the roof:

Crowd estimates were 16,000.

This next shot has nothing to do with anything other than making me laugh. Sorry Nug...

Tea Time

Typically I am not a joiner. Don't like committees. Not fond of boards. Robert's Rules of Order makes me itchy. I am independent and prefer to think with my one brain and not the collective. When in need, I seek those with wisdom greater than mine. Constant prayer goes without saying (even though I just said it). This path has served my temperament well.

Today, all that changes. Today, I am a joiner. I join thousands of folks protesting the insanity of our government. The taxes that are coming our way have spurred us to action. (To those of you who make the argument that taxes are not any higher than under Reagan, hang tight. Your expected share is coming as well. But, have no fear, we'll still be here fighting the good fight when the dawning begins for you.)

I encourage every single fed-up reader to make room in their schedule today to join your fellow protesters in the streets. Most of these Tea Parties are taking place after work hours (after all, taxpayers work) and you may run into traffic and inconvenience getting there, but if you can, go.

Stretch your freedom; have your say. Stand shoulder to shoulder with others who are mad as hell and don't want to take it anymore. See for yourself, with your own eyes, the massive backbone of this country and be a part of this historic moment. Even if you go and say nothing, or carry no sign, your presence is welcome.

Viva la Tea Party!

Closer to the Tipping Point

Remember back in February when I talked of a resolution to declare sovereignty of the State of Texas? (The post can be read HERE.) Remember when some poo-pooed the idea as fringe? Well, we have a new development. Texas is not talking about secession (or any of the other states taking preemptive action against the federal government), merely setting the stage if the need arises. Focus your peepers on this:

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry joined state Rep. Brandon Creighton and sponsors of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 50 in support of states’ rights under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.”

Perry continued: "Millions of Texans are tired of Washington, DC trying to come down here to tell us how to run Texas."

We are a different breed here. Don't mess with Texas, y'all.

Hey peeps, are you an "unnamed right-wing extremist?" A newly unclassified Department of Homeland Security report warns against the possibility of violence by unnamed "right-wing extremists" concerned about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on firearms, abortion and the loss of U.S. sovereignty and singles out returning war veterans as particular threats.

Let's see. Am I concerned about illegal immigration? Check. Increased federal power? Check. Restrictions on firearms? Checkity-check and pew pew pew. Abortion? Check. Loss of U.S. sovereignty? Oh hell to the check.

I love how the document speaks of the possibility of violence, but doesn't point TO ONE SINGLE EXAMPLE, and then lumps in returning war vets. Hear that those of you who have served honorably and happen to weigh in on the right of issues instead of the left? ACORN has nothing on you. You be dan-ger-ous.

Idiots.

Speaking of ACORN (if you don't know who this group is, what are you doing reading here?! seriously, google them and prepare to be aghast), they would like you to believe they are sweetness and light. They want you to believe they are honest everyday people (say them). For those of us who think of them in lying bastard terms, here's more proof as they deny they have heard of the Tea Parties until now (which many suspect they will crash) : "This is the first we've heard of these so-called 'tea parties.' And, frankly, a bunch of small get-togethers by fringe conservative activists dedicated to simply saying 'no' is of little interest to us," said ACORN spokesman Brian Kettenring.

Really? Just now you're hearing about the Tea Parties?! So, you never read a paper, listen to the radio, discuss current topics with friends, or root around the Internets (Thanky Al Gore!) for news? Really? That's not unbelievable at all. And who you callin' "fringe?" When I read the quote I was happy to have a mouth full of empty, because I would have spit all over myself laughing.

Who do they think they are fooling? Their tactics are right from the handbook of "Saying it makes it true."

Tomorrow, as I attend the Tea Party (with my press pass...holla!) I expect to see some of these guys there. More power to them. It's America after all. But, golly gee, I hope they understand they'll be in a crowd full of "unnamed right-wing extremists" according to Homeland Security.

BadAss of the Day: The Navy Seals who can add "taking out pirates" to their resumes. "...after Navy Seals launched a rescue attempt that ended when snipers killed three pirates in three shots, all direct hits to the head."

Argggg!

Get Your T-shirt Here!

Over the last week, disconnected from most media and then jumping back in to the growing Tea Party voice with exhausted eyes, one thing bothers me. When did the Tea Parties become a commercial event? Is there room for a cottage industry of t-shirts, mugs and knick-knacks in a revolt of the people? Did the revolt in Boston spawn a slew of vendors prior to the dumping of the tea?

It's unsettling. Can one be taken seriously if they are asking for donations and selling memorabilia for such a serious cause? My gut is saying no. It reminds me of the Peta crowd. Their in-your-face-apparel doesn't sway anyone who isn't already a supporter. Personally, it has the opposite effect. Compels me to offer a double meat cheese burger to those folks in their "Meat is Murder" apparel.

When folks are past the tipping point of refusing the state of affairs as something they have no control over, when planning a "Party" is not an option, when the city permits (ironic, right?!) and insurance documentation and rented Porta-Potties and the website PayPal accounts for donations are no longer considered, that will be the moment of true reform. When that happens folks will spontaneously take to Washington and to their state capitols, filling the streets with their collective voices, no longer accepting the status quo of current politics.

To be clear, I support the Tea Parties. I plan on attending. I support folks having their say. I support the collective American voice rising and expecting to be heard. I simply wonder if the end product will be effective.

Pain Delay, Part Three

Sheesh, could this get any worse? Me always gone with you coming here, hoping to see something, anything, new? If it helps, I hate it too.

In the meantime, look around and read some of the entries you've missed. Or vote on the poll. Or tell me what you think in a comment.

I'll be back as soon as I can. Have a blessed Easter.

Pain Delay, Part Two

I swear I'm not taking a vacation with the Bamster. I am spending all my hours in a hospital room listening to docs educate me in ways I'd rather not know.

Tomorrow, more of the same of today. No updates. As soon as I am able, I will be back, keyboard blazing.

Hang tight.

Pain Delay

Due to family emergency, Not a Wonk will be postponed until tomorrow. Surely (don't call me Shirley!) there is a NaW entry that you haven't had time to read. Think of this mini-break as time to catch your NaW breath.

Thanks for heading this way and come back soon.

Bellicosity is so September 11

Headlines that make me ask if there is more to the story:

Mortgage delinquencies soar in the US: Dann Adams, president of U.S. Information Systems for Equifax Inc, reported that 7 percent of homeowners with mortgages were at least 30 days late on their loans in February, an increase of more than 50 percent from a year earlier.

Yes, unemployment is up and there are folks who are struggling to make their payments, but this headline and subsequent story begs the question: how many of these newly delinquent mortgages are from folks who have been told that the only way to get stimulus help is to actually be delinquent on their house payments?

The Myth of 90 Percent: Only a Small Fraction of Guns in Mexico Come From U.S.: What's true, an ATF spokeswoman told FOXNews.com, in a clarification of the statistic used by her own agency's assistant director, "is that over 90 percent of the traced firearms originate from the U.S."

The difference one word can make, eh? The hard fact is that only 17% of the traceable guns in Mexico come from the U.S.

ONLY 17 PERCENT!!!

Gotta ask yourself if the ATF is giving out this info then why do folks like Hillary, Sen. Feinstein, and CBS newsman Bob Schieffer keep using the false statistic? No really. Ask yourself. (hint: The lefties are gunning for your guns. An unarmed citizenry is a safe citizenry, right?)

Obama ends Euproe trip with tour of Istanbul mosque:"Obama conquers hearts," the popular Vatan newspaper trumpeted on its front page, while the liberal Taraf said the speech marked the end of "the bellicose spirit of September 11."

Really?

Obama is filling the heads of world leaders everywhere that the U.S. is done fighting and that we are to blame for the world's mess. Mia culpa. Please please forgive us. Blech. Someone should take his man card away from him.

Korea gets a wagging finger and some squished-into-a-stern-V eyebrows. The Saudi King gets a servant's bow. The Chinese get our loans and our future. The world gets a "no nukes" fantasy as B tells us he's not naive, which makes me ponder what came first: his naivete on believing he's not naive or his naivete that he's betting that the world agrees? (interestingly enough, we who are silly enough to challenge him here in the states get the hardest words he has yet to utter. bad bad citizens.)

Banned are meanie Bush-type words or actions of decisive leadership. He has rolled over and shown the thugs his white (figurative people!) soft underbelly, and by doing so has placed our country in a dangerous situation. Heeeelloooooo, even the popular commercial that urged us to "never let them see you sweat" gets foreign policy better than Obama.

I have a newsflash for those leaders who are taking B's sniveling America act to heart: While your new BFF uses words and actions that you have longed to hear, yet endangers our nation, the rest of us, the American citizens who understand his foolishness, will continue with "the bellicose spirit of September 11." Count on it. You don't kill our own and get a pass. Well, from Daddy B you do, but not from the rest of us. Not ever happening.

The Bush Six (if you only click over to one story today, make it this one): A Spanish court took the first steps toward starting a criminal investigation of the same six former Bush Administration officials he had named, weighing charges that they had enabled and abetted torture by justifying the abuse of terrorism suspects. Among those whom the court singled out was Feith, the former Under-Secretary of Defense for Policy, along with former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales; John Yoo, a former Justice Department lawyer; and David Addington, the chief of staff and the principal legal adviser to Vice-President Dick Cheney.

Regardless of party affiliation, all ought to recognize the chill of freedom lost. The implications of subjecting our citizens to international whims are enormous. This bypasses our own rule of law and makes each and every American vulnerable and accountable to international law, not to mention rendering the Constitution useless.

It is hard to predict what will happen next, but, if arrest warrants are issued, the Obama Administration may be forced either to extradite the former officials or to start its own investigation.

Will Obama extradite whomever is necessary to placate his new buds? (affirmative) And if he does, what's in it for him? (more accolades of Barry "conquering hearts.")

It's getting nasty out there, peeps. Show off your soft underbelly and this is what you can expect.

Now because I don't want you to cry all day, I leave you with this.

You're welcome.

Tea Party. One lump or two?!

Taxpayer revolt is growing, consequently many are calling for action next Wednesday, April 15. National Tea Party Day. Are you participating?

San Antonio is hosting Glenn Beck for their Tea Party. Right in front of the Alamo from 4-5pm. Actually in Alamo Plaza, right across the street from Ripley's Believe It or Not. I find that last part amusing and slightly fitting. As most know, well those who follow any politics of late, Glenn is a lightning rod for what some feel is a righteous anger focused on the political system as a whole. The issues of trampling The Constitution are not confined to one party, to one color, to one creed. The issues affect all. Obama supporter or not.

Personally, I get up every morning and wonder what the hell is going to be thrown in the hopper of destruction today. I steel myself before reading/watching/listening/pondering the daily onslaught of those who wish to destroy America. I have said it before, the speed in which they act and the arrogance of those in power is astounding. Something has to give.

The Tea Parties. Are you participating? You can go to To Michelle Malkin's Tea Party Map and see if your city is holding a Tea Party.

I will be participating, but am not an organizer. I gave serious thought to organizing, but a few brave souls in my city beat me to the punch. Thank goodness for those who care enough to act.

My biggest concern about the Tea Parties is that folks may think this is the event that will send the end-all message to Washington. I know many are hoping for this. I strongly, but respectfully, disagree.

While I support the first step of Tea Parties, I believe it's naive to think the bulk of Washington's heads will be turned by such a display. What do the politicians care if citizens are gathering and protesting in an orderly and polite fashion? Stories abound of the Tea Parties being mocked within political circles. So, nope, I don't think this is gonna do it.

What will?

Here's what I think, here's what I hope like hell happens: Time for a march on Washington. A full out, leave your houses and jobs and pack up the campers, SUVs, motorbikes and fine, even your teeny tiny Smart Cars (can't guarantee we won't have a little fun with that) and head out to where the politicians live and breath and suck the Benjamins from your wallets. Let's all show up, as righteously angry as we are when we talk about where this nation is headed behind closed doors, and march on Washington. We'll sleep in the parks. We'll camp in the streets until we're satisfied our voices are heard. We'll all help one another get there. We'll collectively unite our power to show them we're mad as hell and we aren't going to take it anymore. As we all know: They work for us.

When the throngs can't be stopped from pouring into the city, when the sea of TAXPAYERS working to send their hard-earned money to Washington decide to cut off the government cash cow, when those of us who fuel this government understand that the time has come for the sacrifice of SHOWING UP, when those of us reclaim our country by marching in the streets, demanding The Constitution be restored, when those of us who understand polite words will never work with bullies and thugs, when we get that, when we do that, I think only then there may be hope of change. Yes we can!

Until that glorious day, I will take the requisite baby steps to bring others along. The Tea Parties are one of those steps. April 15th. Are you participating?

Friday Fun. No really....

Some days you gotta laugh. Either that or go around knockin' heads. Let's laugh, shall we?

Headline that cracks me up: Russia's Medvedev hails "comrade" Obama.

Comrade?! Frightening. No laughing here on that. But.....The first paragraph is the part that makes me laugh: Russia's Dmitry Medvedev hailed Barack Obama as "my new comrade" Thursday after their first face-to-face talks, saying the US president "can listen" -- even if little progress was made on substance.

Medvedev to American Translation: B is dreamy. I feel all warm and gooey on the inside when The One speaks. He's so zexy! (tingle running the length of legs) It matters little that NOTHING OF SUBSTANCE is behind his words, it only matters how I feel about them.

Hahahahahaha. And HA! For all those who voted for Daddy B and are now feeling duped, this has got to be a huge relief. Not only did Bar pull the wool over your eyes with his cool cool ways, he did it to a Russian leader! Russians pride themselves on being able to size up their opponents. They run offense, not defense. They are superior in every way to Americans!!! (Russia, if you are reading this: send vodka) It's not you, it's B! Whew.

Finally! A reason to like the French: France's first lady broke with protocol today as she held out a frosty hand to welcome Barack Obama.

Stunning Carla Bruni was business-like in her greeting — while her hubby treated the US President's wife to a hug and Continental double kiss.

The former model gave customary pecks on both cheeks to Michelle Obama and other dignitaries when the couple arrived in France.

But when it came to the dashing US President the beauty kept a noticeable distance.

I salute you with my deep fried artery clogging french fries, Carla! (I know we OWN the french fry. Baby steps, people.)

President Obama announces he will set a dramatic goal of "a world without nuclear weapons.":"Even with the Cold War now over, the spread of nuclear weapons or the theft of nuclear material could lead to the extermination of any city on the planet," Obama said. "There's no corner of the globe that can wall itself off from the threats of the 21st century."

He cited the commitment he and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev announced two days ago to draw down their nuclear stockpiles -- a move he said would give the U.S. "moral authority" to demand Iran and North Korea stop their nuclear activity.

Yeah, what we need is "moral authority." And we can achieve this "moral authority" by getting in bed with the Russians (he's so zexy!). As we all know, they are the forerunners on morality. (Russia, seriously, I need the vodka.)

The part that is laughable is that no one in their sane mind believes this crap. Not even Daddy B. It's the biggest lie to date. They had a meeting, got bombed, made jokes about ruling the world, nay THE UNIVERSE!, and then had their pics taken. They gotta be high. No really. I think they went to the G-meeting and had gallons of vodka, maybe some wine (Carla insisted), mocked Bush and Rush and the rest of us (Obama voters, supporters, that includes you whether or not you believe it yet. No worries, I'll share my vodka), and probably smoked a dooby or two. They all seem way too happy for the chaos that surrounds them. Take a look for yourself.

PARTY TIME! THUMBS UP! PEACE! EVIL SMARMY INSIDER JOKE LOOKS!!! SUCKAS!!!

Ok, so this one isn't laughable in the sense that it's literally making me laugh, but the idea of the G-Summit after-party kinda does make me giggle. Look at the Saudi King. His thought bubble: Idiots!!! They have no idea that I will make them bow before me. I mean, come on....I already made Barack my bitch! Bwhahahahaha.

Feel free to leave your own thought bubble for any pictured above in the comment section.

Badass of the Day: Jake (1stLt USMC) wife Heidi, and son Logan

Look at that family! Joy jumps off the image as they are safely reunited after a long seven months deployment.

I have had the pleasure of "meeting" Jake online and I, along with others, have been following his story while he serves our country. He deployed when his son was 10 weeks old; he returned to a family dramatically changed during his absence.

We owe a great debt to every Jake, Heidi and Logan among us. This picture puts a face to sacrifice and I am grateful for each and every solider, each and every spouse, each and every kiddo that endures on behalf of our nation.

Badasses of the day, we salute you!

Thursday Throbbing (not as fun as it could be)

Alright, fun time is over. I can't believe I got so many of you. Know that while I was laughing at your expense, I love me my readers. Thanks, in advance, for coming back and for indulging me my prolonged adolescence.

Back to the pile of crap politicians and their latest attempts to silence you into submission, or at the very least take all your money while you squawk and peck while they wave you off with their superior hand.

On Friday I wrote about a partisan tactic called reconciliation that is being used to silence the minority vote in Congress over the budget bill. You can read the original article from the entry HERE. Essentially, by using this procedure, checks and balances are given the big F-U. (there's that cranky-pants Patti).

Before we move on, let's have a quick mini-refresher on our political system's checks and balances:

The American constitutional system includes a notion known as the Separation of Powers. In this system, several branches of government are created and power is shared between them. At the same time, the powers of one branch can be challenged by another branch. This is what the system of checks and balances is all about.

There are three branches in the United States government as established by the Constitution. First, the Legislative branch makes the law. Second, the Executive branch executes the law. Last, the Judicial branch interprets the law. Each branch has an effect on the other.

Pushing through a bill, especially a bill of this magnitude (it includes healthcare reform and that pesky cap-and-trade government money maker), without the minority getting to weigh in is tyranny. Plain talk for tough times. Tyranny is oppressive power exerted by a government. Sound familiar anyone? But this is America. We do things differently here. Yeah. Our politicians give you tyranny with a flipped bird and that big ol' F-U, then laugh all the way to retirement on their pensions and guaranteed healthcare FOR LIFE. You can't touch them!

But, if you're a majority, why would you need to use reconciliation? (it sounds like a warm and fuzzy favor they are doing for you. DON'T BE FOOLED.) Don't they already have enough votes? The answer is simple; they get to bypass a Super Majority, which constitutes 2/3 or more of all votes tallied. What is vitally important to some may not be vitally important to all, and the Senate supermajority ensures that enough people are in agreement for a proposal to become public law.

As it stands, they need Republican votes for a Super Majority. Republican votes they know they can't get: In this Congress, Senate Republicans are not budging on the issue of the Democratic health care plan. They're also holding their ground on climate change legislation. Since Democrats are two votes short of a supermajority in the Senate, Democrats must reach across the aisle to work with them — at least, for now.

If that doesn't convince you, how about this:

The move would allow Democrats to approve plans to raise taxes by $1 trillion, create a cap-and-trade system to rein in greenhouse-gas emissions, and overhaul health care without a single Republican vote.

Blood pressure rising much?

Now here's a totally unexpected twist. You may need to sit down for this one. And no drinking coffee or tea cause you'll just spit it all over the place. Ready?

Sen. Byrd, one of the authors of the reconciliation amendment, told the Post: "I am certain that putting health-care reform and climate change legislation on a freight train through Congress is an outrage that must be resisted.”

Sen. Byrd and I agree?!

~faints~

There is a growing list of moderate Dems ( I am not suggesting Byrd is one of these moderates) that are questioning Barry's plans and consequently are being targeted to get in line with the Pres:

...MoveOn.org and Americans United for Change, the labor-backed organization that serves as the White House’s chief third-party operation, began airing ads Wednesday urging moderate Democrats in both the House and the Senate to get on board with the president’s budget.

Lock-step fellas. For God's sake, you're Democrats. You know the party line. You do what The One tells you to do. End of story. There is no thinking for yourself. Do it. Your Fearless Leader and your far-left liberal crazies DEMAND it. After all, Barry was quoted as saying to one of his own: "Don't think we're not keeping score, brother." That's what President Barack Obama said to Rep. Peter DeFazio in a closed-door meeting of the House Democratic Caucus last week, according to the Associated Press.

A few weeks ago, DeFazio had the balls to vote against the stimulus. Daddy B was taking him to task. No one shows his balls unless approved by Bar. And if you do, it's a tic mark in the BAD SHEEP column.

If you really want a chill, go HERE and read this WSJ article published back in October that spoke of the governmental mayhem to come if a super majority of liberals came into power. It was there in black and white, for all to read, but so many poo-pooed such radical ideas could ever come to pass.

Look how far we've come in under the first 100 days of a presidency. Breathtaking, eh?!
