School Czar Cancer

Barry just keeps screwing up everything he touches. A sure sign of catastrophe is if he assigns a czar to a problem. Once that happens, you can count on a nuclear meltdown.

Public education anyone?! You vs Them. Basically that's what we're down to. I thought the schools sucked when our kiddo was younger, but today's issues dwarf what we faced.

We homeschooled when homeschooling wasn't cool. I was the running shorts/jeans-wearing/smack-talking mommy amid a sea of prairie skirts/turtleneck-wearing/husband-fearing mommies. My family was one of the few, and I mean very few, who homeschooled for educational reasons.

When I first jumped into the parallel universe of homeschooling, legislation was pending before the Supreme Court that would either make it legal in Texas or outlaw it. We were officially in a gray zone. I was told to never go out into "the world" (boogity boogity) during school hours with my kiddo. If I did, I risked arrest (even though it wasn't illegal). We lived a block from our local elementary school and our situation was considered high risk. It was not unheard of for Child Protective Services to show up unexpectedly at homeschooler's homes because "concerned" neighbors called to alert them of a "truant" child.

I listened to the advice of those who had gone before me. I paid a fee to a lawyer's group that was schooled in the law of our particular situation, and kept their number with me at all times. I kept records of curriculum and progress reports. I did everything to protect my family.

After in depth preparations, considering the wisdom of those who had been fighting for parental rights in this arena long before I came on the scene, I made the decision to give big F-U to those were trying to stop my rights as an American, who were trying to trample my freedoms, and we got on with our lives.

We went out into "the world" whenever needed. We took our daily afternoon walk right past the elementary school for all to see. We answered questions truthfully when asked why our child wasn't in school. We claimed our rights to the freedoms we had and basically dared those who wanted to take them from us to get in line.

Our kiddo was well-protected in the fight. There was never a time that he was in danger from anything other than the idiots that thought they knew better than his actual parents. And those idiots had to come through me.

I have been asked if I had kiddos at home now, would I still make the choice to homeschool. Are you kidding? In a heartbeat. Not that homeschooling is easy, or something one wants to do, but for us it was necessary. Our child had a need the school couldn't or refused to meet (he was three grades ahead by kindergarten), that we became accidental activists served as an unexpected education. Yet, today my reasons to homeschool would be different. Given that parents and their innocent children now face Barry's Safe School Czar Kevin Jennings' Fist Gate (go HERE for a list of stories concerning this issue), the question in my mind is a no-brainier.

Nothing pisses me off faster than pervs messing with kiddos. And Jennings, the founder of GLSEN is the King of Messing With Children. Sure, GLSEN seems innocuous enough. They want to protect gay kids from being bullied and harassed by others, and that would be great if that's where it stopped, but it doesn't.

GLSEN has a recommended book list for gay kids, all gay kids including k-6 grades. Gateway Pundit decided to read those books. Note: This linked material is NSFW and is disturbingly graphic:

What we discovered shocked us. We were flabbergasted. Rendered speechless.

We were unprepared for what we encountered. Book after book after book contained stories and anecdotes that weren’t merely X-rated and pornographic, but which featured explicit descriptions of sex acts between pre-schoolers; stories that seemed to promote and recommend child-adult sexual relationships; stories of public masturbation, anal sex in restrooms, affairs between students and teachers, five-year-olds playing sex games, semen flying through the air. One memoir even praised becoming a prostitute as a way to increase one’s self-esteem. Above all, the books seemed to have less to do with promoting tolerance than with an unabashed attempt to indoctrinate students into a hyper-sexualized worldview.

Once you read this report, see the facts for yourself, it should make you ask yourself why would Obama choose this particularly dangerous perv to be the Safe School Czar? Why would Barry want our children indoctrinated with this filth? What is his hoped outcome?

Compromising our children's safety on any level is evil. Jennings and Barry have plans for your kiddos. Barry is showing us who he is when he allows Jennings the power to tell you what your kids will read and learn about deviancy at whatever age THEY DEEM appropriate. And they expect you to sit there and shut-it. Just like Washington tells you how they will spend your money, they are now telling you how your kids will be indoctrinated with filth, whether you like it or not.

The fight, on every freedom-grabbing level, continues....

Homeschooling anyone?

My boy is 4. I have thought about homeschooling ever since I found out I was pregnant. As time goes by, I am more and more convinced it would be the only safe option. I included (stole) some of your sentiments in an angry (but articulate) letter to all my reps and the President. What do you think would happen if all concerned parents educated their kids at home?

Interesting article Patti. I think that as long as the schools for further and further down this road that the Jenningses of the world are pushing, people will continue to flee the public system.

I remember when they introduced Heather Has Two Mommies and everyone was upset -- we were told that was far as they wanted to take it. Apparently, they lied. . . just like we knew they were doing.

You're a brave woman, Patti. Oh never mind those outsiders--the thought of spending all day and night with my kiddos would have sent me to the loony bin. LOL

All kidding aside, we were lucky that our kids got their public school education in a district that had such high academic success that the state stayed out of it. A very conservative town, with very aware parents who were actively involved in their kids' education. And even at that, my wife and I held a daily review with the kids about what they were being taught. We had to undo the damage the schools were doing with "new math" and "creative spelling/whole meaning" nonsense. But at least they didn't get the indoctrination that so many others got nationwide.

My younger daughter has not been so fortunate, and is now about one step away from quitting her job and home-schooling her younger ones because of the dreadful school district they are currently stuck in.

I think you already know my thoughts on the Safe Schools Czar. Anybody out there have some tar and feathers handy?

I would like to introduce that pervert to some good old fashion TEXAS fisting. Right up side his liberal melon head. Time for an uprising, I'm ready, just let me know when.

Great read Patti! I thought we had perv laws for creeps like Jennings. You know, a thousands yards from a school and such. Barry is playing with fire with this one, you don’t mess with the kids!

my husband was home-schooled under similar conditions in the south. like, nervous to go outside kind of conditions.

although i haven't chosen that option (yet) for my kids, i fight for our right to homeschool. cuz germany SUCKS with out it (it is against the law here, did you know that? yet the americans who live here are allowed to do it and all the germans look at them with envy.)

Ok. I read through some of the passages for the books. I am completely grossed out now. We're talking about pedophilia and all sorts of other nasty, vulgar deviancy.

Good GRIEF. Get rid of Jennings ASAP!!!
