They Want Your Bills

Washington mulls spending MORE of your money for two industries that are sucking ass.

Example #1) Democrats moved Thursday to give special relief to the financially strapped Postal Service, which would be allowed to defer $4 billion in payments due at the end of this month to cover retirement benefits for its employees.

Hmmmm, my wild guess here is that if I could depend on a simple package being delivered on time, especially since I paid for the Priority Service, that I would be likely to spend more of my mailing expenditures with the USPS. Since they suck ass, I prefer to give my money to a delivery system that is held accountable by consumers for missed deadlines.

Example #2) WASHINGTON (Reuters) - With many U.S. newspapers struggling to survive, a Democratic senator on Tuesday introduced a bill to help them by allowing newspaper companies to restructure as nonprofits with a variety of tax breaks.

Huh. If this entry didn't give you a teeny tiny inkling of why newspapers suck ass, then all I can say is go buy any newspaper around and see if it's worth the $1.50 you have to pay for it. They have become publications of identity: Left or Right or Center. The Internets (thanky al gore!) allows us 24/7 access to breaking news. Newspapers can't compete in that news arena anymore, so they have to think of ways that they can compete in order to sell copies. If they can't adjust, then it's time to say adios. If I don't want to support them with a subscription, what makes Washington think I want to support them with my tax dollars?

The ONLY bailout I want to see coming down the pike is one of bailing out the stench coming from the money-grabbers in Washington.

And as long as we are on the subject of public monies going for causes We The People oppose, how about the money going to support Barry Mania propaganda in our public schools:

Homeschooling anyone?
