This is what is wrong with the administration in a nutshell:
They are devious, misleading and will laugh in the face of honest questioning as they try to deflect the dishonesty of what is their reality: they are lying to the American public.
The White House will not admit they are staging Obama's town hall meetings, even as Chip Reid (CBS) and Helen Thomas give some defiant push-back. When Helen Thomas voices amazement at the lack of transparency and openness in the very administration that demanded it, we should all pay attention. This woman has had a front seat for more political shenanigans than anyone. She knows fraud when she sees it.
While Gibbs is laughing in nervous amazement at the reporters who aren't playing along with the deception, the rest of us can see for ourselves that the curtain has been drawn back reveling exactly what they are doing.
The White House wants control of the media. Let's all pull a Chip Reid/Helen Thomas and push back ourselves.

This was great! I watched it last night. I think I owe an apology to Helen Thomas and Chip Reid. They are beginning to stand up for a free press. Maybe there is hope yet?

Robert Gibbs is disgusting. He refused to answer the question they asked him because he KNEW that they were right - that this was all pre-screened, the questions and those who were invited for the town hall.
And you're right - if Helen Thomas is getting upset, then something is REALLY wrong here.
why would you lie so vehemently about something that isn't even that important? i mean, it was put on by obama, obviously it's going to make him look good. WHY LIE?!?! more freakiness.
